Double D, Ric Rac / Zig Zag

Good Morning!

A brand new Challenge is up and running over at the Double D Challenge Blog.

Check out this Inspirational Tile to get your creative juices flowing!

And here is my card:

I created my 'zig zag' background using a Papertrey Ink Chevron Cover Plate die.  Using it as a stencil, I sprayed Heidi Swapp's Color Shine Mist in Rose all over white card stock.  This mist is pretty cool and leaves quite a shimmer behind.  I then took some Craft Paint in Turquoise and splattered a bit over the pink stencil using my handy dandy toothbrush.  Base card stock is Blue Lagoon by Gina K Designs.

Papertrey Ink stamp and die sets used; Shakers And Sprinkles and Daydreamer.  My Scatter die cut is offset layered on Black and Blue Lagoon card stock, the Black makes it really POP.  Inks in Tempting Turquoise, Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi, all colors I picked up from the Photo Inspiration.   I just die cut and stamped my flowers and leaves and kept adding them to my sentiment panel.  Don't you just adore that sentiment?  I cut that particular stamp in half so I could place the large die cut in between.  LOVE this!  Iridescent Sequins for accents.

This card will also be entered into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, Use A Favorite Tool.  In this case it is a Die Cutting Machine, my Big Shot.....and Stencils, what great tools they are!

Please come on over to the Double D Blog and join in all of the FUN!  You'll be glad you did!

Thanks for stopping in.

Enjoy~~

  2. First, I LOVE that sentiment! I bet it hurt to cut it in half, but it looks great on your card. Next, I love the black behind the Scatter. Really adds the Pop! All of the layers are a wonderful addition to the whole card. I love it all!

  7. What a fun challenge!! I really like what you've done with the Daydreamer set, one of my favorites. The soft colors give this card a vintage-y look somehow. And I think using the greeting as a focal is genius.....LOVE doing that!!!
