How Engaging!

Well as you all probably know a week ago we threw a FABULOUS Engagement Party for our daughter, Lori and her beloved Tim.  It was just one of those days when everything went well, all the stars aligned.....including Mother Nature!  Picture Perfect!

I had a lot of prep to do, making sure things were just right!  I made 5 Engagement Banners and some other little touches to disperse throughout the yard.  It was a fun filled day full of love and laughter and family.   I know the Happy Couple felt loved and blessed, but man I feel like the happiest girl in the world!!!

Here are some of the pictures of the fantastic day.  I will have more in the coming weeks, I just need to get a hold of all the other photos.

ENJOY!!!

Happy Fall Morning

Good Morning!  What a gorgeous Fall morning here!  Blue, blue skies, bright sunshine, cooler temps and NO humidity!  What more could a girl ask for?  In a little bit I will head out to the gardens to pick and store some flower seeds.  I hope to have a surplus of Purple Cone Flowers, Shasta Daisies, Marigolds (don't think I have bought one in the last 5 years!), Cleome, Black Eyed Susans and Cosmos......just to name a few!  I actually still have quite a bit of color throughout the yard, and I am happy and thankful for that.

Now on to some Fall Colors!

Flourishes has a wonderful Challenge going on, adding Dots.  You may add dots to your background or colored image.

On Tuesday they had this great Pointillism Tutorial.

noun: pointillism
  1. 1.
a technique of neo-Impressionist painting using tiny dots of various pure colors, which become blended in the viewer's eye. It was developed by Georges Seurat with the aim of producing a greater degree of luminosity and brilliance of color.

I'll try anything at least once, so here is my effort:

I decided to use this technique for coloring the image and adding some Fall color to the background.  I like how this came out and might try it in the very near future again.

I used the Flourishes stamp set, Autumn Blessings......kind of says it all doesn't it?   Many Copic Markers, Nestabilities Classic and Scalloped Circles, Sizzix Decorateive Swirl #4 die, burlap style green fabric, buttons and twine.

This card will be entered in 3 Challenges:

Flourishes  FTTC #239, Build it With Dots

Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes

CMC Fall Colors (Fall13)

I hope you all can experience some of this beautiful Fall weather.

And don't forget.....try something new!

ENJOY~~

Baby Door Knob Hanger

Just a quick post this morning.  I really should be locked in the kitchen right now!

The project I made is for the MIUM Challenge over at Stamp TV, to incorporate some type of "hanging element".  Another one of my daughter's friends is having a baby boy so I was delighted to make her this project.

I cut a 'regular' tag shape with my Cameo, breaking apart the image and making the tag larger as well as the circle punch.  I then hand-cut the slot so it would fit over a door knob.   I used all GK Designs, stamp sets; Basket Blessings, Basket Additions 2, and Holiday Basket.....all illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.  I also cut out ssshhh in a script font so it would cut as one piece. Added a doily and some Stickles, colored with Copics, and a pretty bow to tie it all together!  This will be added to a gift bag.

*** a special message to Angie, Kathleen, & Doris; your stamps were all mailed on Wednesday, I hope you get them so you can play this weekend!  Enjoy!  (Angie no sweet pea seeds to be found, I think a bird got to them before I did, but I will keep checking)  :) ***

And now to lock myself in the kitchen for the next 48 hours!  :)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Feeling Wicked?!?!

I have no idea what got into me, but I am on a Halloween card-making jag.  They're FUN!  Who knew?  They will all be entered in the Stamp TV MIUM Challenge.......sew easy......to use some sort of sewing on your project.  It can be an actual stitch or faux stitching or even a ribbon that has stitching.  To quote Cat, it's easy peasy!!!

All stamp sets are from Gina k Designs.  This card uses Wicked & Simple Numbers.

The pumpkin border punch is by Martha Stewart as well as the little bat punch.  Sentiment is from GK Designs,Wicked.

There is a little plastic doo-hickey at the top of this card that says Trick or Treat.  GKD, Wicked.

So far this one is my favorite.  I love the DP I found and the layout of this card.  And who doesn't enjoy a witch's hat on top of a pumpkin......oooooh creepy!  lol  Wicked & Heartfelt stamp sets.

And last but not least.  The spider webs were cut out using my Cameo, a free design from SVGCUTS, another great Company I like to work with!  I whipped out my Janome Mini and added "real" stitching to the orange focal panel.  Again, using the Wicked stamps.

Some of the Designer Paper came from this fabulous pack I have, DCWV; The Midnight Spell.....GREAT Halloween choices!

So stick around for tomorrow's TREAT!  3 lucky winners will be announced!

Who's Hungry For Some Blog Candy?!?!

Good Evening!  As promised I have an announcement.....but first I would like to show you the card I made for the Flourishes #237 Challenge, Make A Good Impression, to use dry embossing somewhere on your project.  Easy Peasey!  :)

Found this great paper pack in my stash, Global Treks, by Deja Views.  I think it was marked down so cheap I bought 2.....just in case!  lol

I used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Honey Comb, the large one and the smaller border one.  It's hard to see but that background DP is embossed too.  The stamp set is from Flourishes, Chrysanthemums, such a lovely set.  And you may recall that I had won the entire August Release, 3 beautiful sets, Chrysanthemums, Autumn Blessings, and Mountain View

Chrysanthemums

Autumn Blessings

Mountain View

Beautiful right?  Now how would you like to win one of these lovely stamp sets?

The shipping department over at Flourishes was so prompt in getting my winnings to me, they sent them twice.  I did contact Allison and after explaining the situation and wondering if she would want me to return the second set, she cheerfully said, pass them along to a crafty friend or have a Give-A-Way.  So now I am passing MY good fortune along to 3 of YOU!  Just leave me a comment telling me what you think about anything.....the Blog....the Stamp Sets....the way the humidity freaks your hair out.....Fall.....Christmas Shopping.....How weird your Husband is.......whatever!  I will let you comment all  weekend long.  Sometime on Monday I will have my daughter pick 3 winners!!

Easy Peasey, right?  Hope it was well worth the wait.

Until Monday!  :)

A Little Favorite Of Mine

Good Morning All!  And what a glorious morning it is.  It's a bit cooler with crisp fresh air and a beautiful blue sky.....what more could you ask for?

Today's card is a beauty that I will enter for 2 Challenges; Flourishes #236, Double The Ribbon, and Simon Says Monday All Stars, to use some of your favorites!

This card IS a favorite of mine as one of my FAVORITE online Gal Pals, Rosy, set me a bunch of beautifully stamped images.  What a fantastic surprise!  Truly Happy Mail!  Thank you ROSY!!!  And Aloha!  :)

The stamp is from Flourishes, Spring Blossoms, full of gorgeous Spring Flowers, which I am a HUGE fan of, on paper and in real life!  They are colored with my favorite Markers, Copics.  Although I have a very long way to go in the Copic Marker Coloring scheme of things, I still enjoy trying to color and blend.  Doesn't always work out the way I would like, but I will keep on trying.  Practice makes perfect.....I hope!

Now if you like this image you will certainly LOVE the other images Flourishes has to offer.  And if you stay tuned to this Blog, I have an announcement that I will be making later this week......so PLEASE stick around......trust me, you're going to want to be a part of this!

Hope you are all looking out your windows and seeing this glorious day too!

Happy Sunday!!!

Back To School

Good Morning!  Happy Friday!

Tis the season for Back To School.   I kind of miss the days of back to school shopping, the anticipation of what the school year will bring.  It's a great time of year to get back in the swing of things, even if I have no one going back to school.  A time for schedules and discipline, I kind of like it!  I need boundaries.  lol

Today's card will be entered in the Curtain Call Back To School Challenge.

Gina K Designs stamp sets used; Falling For You, Poster Board Sentiments & Simple Numbers.   Background paper embossed with the Alphabet Cuttlebug folder.  Another apple cut using the Silhouette Cameo.

Hope you all get back into some kind or routine or rhythm!

Enjoy~~

An Apple A Day

Happy Fall Y'All!  What a difference a day or two make, changes the weather.....changes the population here.....changes my attitude!  Oh not really, I am always happy.....thankfully!

Today's card will be entered in the CASology Challenge, Week # 60, Apple.

Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut 3 layers of an apple shape.  This machine is quite amazing.  If you look at the veins on the leaves, see how teeny they are?  The Cameo cut them without any problem, simply amazing!

Just a sweet little card, nothing fancy, no frills!

Stamp set by Gina K Designs, One In A Million.

An Apple A Day, Keeps The Doctor Away.....be well all..........
