Life Is Art

Happy Tuesday!  On the Great Impressions Blog today!

Back again today with a happy little card!

I absolutely LOVE this sentiment, E792 Life Is Art.   I wanted the sentiment to stand out, so I made a background using the Masking Tape Technique;  placing masking tape on your ink pad and smoothing down, then applying the inked tape to your card stock.  I wanted to make you feel that this creation was a piece of art hanging on a wall.  Ribbon and little bows and pearl accents.

Still a little bit of time to get in on our Monthly Challenge, To Use Your Favorite Stamp!  And when you use your favorite Great Impressions stamp link it right to our Customer Gallery, where at the end of the year you could win some fabulous prizes just for being a loyal customer!

Thanks for coming by!

Merry Christmas In July

Ho Ho Ho .....less than 5 months away, don't panic!

This card will be entered into the Challenge at Dies R Us, Christmas In July.

I saw this design and layout over on Pinterest and knew I wanted to CASE it.  Using some great red and green polka dot Designer Paper from my stash I created some hand cut panels.  Sentiment from Gina K Designs, Wishing You Joy.  The sentiment banner was made using MFT Blueprints #12 die. (although I did hand notch one end).  Added a big bold green button and lots of Jute Twine and the card was completed.  That button will add postage for sure!

I do like the rustic flavor of this card, must be the Kraft panel and Jute Twine!

Thanks so much for coming by, appreciate you doing so!

Enjoy~~

Fall Bookmarks

Good Afternoon!

Wednesday our humidity moved out and that sweet cool air from Canada came through, it feels heavenly!  And with just that little switch I began to think of Fall and all it brings.  Cooler temps, rustic golds, back to school and pie....okay my bookmarks have nothing to do with pie.  But I love baking in the Fall!  ;)

These will be entered into a few Challenges; Mod Squad, The Wing's The Thing, hosted by my Online BFF Judy Woodland, check out her blog!   Stamp TV, Get Out The Tissue, hosted by another dear and talented friend Joyce Erb, check out her blog as well.  And for the Challenge at Simon Says Wednesday Sparkle & Shine.

I used Gina K Designs stamp sets, Autumn Beauty, Fabulous Frame and Harvest Of Wishes.  I stamped the sunflower image directly to a large piece of tissue paper many times.  Cutting the large panel into two 2" x 6" pieces, which I then glued down to pieces of chipboard measuring the same.  Punched a hole in the top of each, adding eyelets and Baker's Twine.  I then stamped the sunflower two more times and fussy cut them out.  Colored with Copic Markers.  Stamped my 'winged thing' to the top and colored that image as well, then I added a good dousing of Stickles for my sparkle and shine.  Added the perfect Fall sentiment and a lone flourish.

I really love how the tissue paper holds a stamped image and the texture it adds, especially if you leave some of the bubbles and crinkles.  FUN technique!

Thanks so much for stopping by.....hope the weather is good to you!

Enjoy~~

CELEBRATE!

Good Afternoon!

It's harder and harder to find crafting time, but I managed to sneak in one little card Monday night.  Then it takes 2 more days to find time to post it.  WOW!

This will be entered into the Challenges at Penny Black, Anything Goes Add A Sentiment, Curtain Call, Celebrate and Tag You're It, 'Inspirational Photo'.

I was inspired by the butterfly, Baker's Twine and the bold white tag in the photo, complete with trail and stitching.  I started with some Wild Orchid card stock by Gina K Designs.....sooooo pretty!  Designer Paper is Si Bon!  by K & Company.  Sentiment is from For You by Penny Black, stamped in Wild Wasabi Ink.  MFT dies, Stitched Tag and Open Bracket Border.  EK Success Butterfly Trio punch, Martha Stewart Pop Up Hydrangea punch and Sizzix die, Branch With LeavesSwiss Dots Embossing Folder.

Frame cut by hand.

Added accents; Eyelet, Baker's Twine, and Rhinestone Flourish, Brad for the center of the flower (which also holds the 3 layers together).  The top layer of the butterfly is cut from Vellum.

This card makes me HAPPY!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Friends, Near And Far

Hello!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenges at Stamp TV, Put Your Mask On!, hosted by my wildly talent dear friend, Barbara Campbell and Simon Says Monday, Anything Goes!

I used 2 Gina K Designs stamp sets, Friends and Spring Blessings.  Designer Paper and Card Sock also GKD Products; Berries & Vines, Asparagus, Honey Mustard, Kraft, and White.

I masked off the bird after stamping it directly to the Kraft Card Stock in Always Artichoke Ink.  Then I stamped the leaves using Distress Inks in Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey.

Sentiment stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink.  Using a Sizzix Branch With Leaves Die, I cut out corresponding card stock and layered them beneath my bird image.

I adore this sweet little bird image.

A couple of weeks ago I used the same images and another fabulous sentiment:

That bird looks great in any color!

For Your Birthday Tag & Card

Howdy!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenges at Penny Black, Anything Goes With A Sentiment and Tag You're It, Inspirational Photo.

Here is my card with a tag on it.....well technically it is a tag on a tag on a card!  ;)

I used the pretty little stamp set, Blooming Tags from Penny Black Stamps.  Love this set!!!  Images colored with Copic Markers.  Inks used; Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi and Tuxedo Black.  I stamped the tag images and then hand cut them, layering the larger one on white and blue card stock.  MFT Notched Border and PTI Swoosh Birthday dies.  The sentiment read For You and I masked it off and made it read For Your.....don't look too closely at it!  ;)

I took the flower, wordy background and birthday 'flavor' from the Inspirational Photo.

Eyelet, Baker's Twine, Adhesive Rhinestone, and Sakura Yellow Glitter Pen used for accents.  3D Pop Dots to give the large tag dimension.

And there you have it, a tag on a tag on a card!  Easy Peasy!

THANKS

Good Morning!

Today Great Impressions is sponsoring the Challenge at  C.R.A.F.T. To Make A Thank You Card.

Here is my card:

I was in a gardening kind of mood and decided to use the Great Impressions BIG, bold, beautiful blossom, F553 Large Stitched Flower.  I colored the flowers in bright colors using Copic Markers.  Taking a Sakura Black Glaze pen I hi-lighted the centers and topped them off with a black Adhesive pearl.  The 'thanks' is a die cut and I layered 3 of them together to give it a bit of oomph!  I also backed it with a piece of white card stock so it would POP.  A little bit of black and white gingham ribbon to tie it all together and 2 more gold Adhesive Pearls for accents finish off the design.

Don't forget to enter into the Great Impressions July Challenge, To Use Your Favorite Stamp (c'mon, how EASY is that???)  You don't have to use a Great Impressions stamp.....BUT if you do please link it up to our Customer Gallery for a chance to win some fabulous year end prizes.....just for being a loyal customer!!!

THANKS (truly) for coming by!

Coffee Cups

Good Tuesday Morning!

I am so excited as this is my very first Great Impressions Blog Post!  Whahoo!

I am starting the morning off right......with coffee of course!  My card has just the jolt you'll need to get your day started too!

This card will also be entered into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, Coffee Or Tea?  (such a silly question!)  lol

I adore this fabulous border which uses the  Great Impressions Stamp Set G449 Coffee Cup Border.  I stamped it once and then added a coffee cup on each side by masking off the stamp.  Images colored with Copic Markers.  I found some creamy coffee enamel brads in my stash and a lovely bit of sheer ribbon for accents.

Inside I used the sentiment stamp F189 Nicest Perks.  Masking off the border stamp again I added a cup-o-Joe to the sentiment.

Many a morning and afternoon have been spent with wonderful friends sipping delicious hot coffee, they seem to go hand in hand!

Thanks so much for popping in, I'm so glad you did!

Gardening Fun

Hello Again!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenge at the Mod Squad Blog, Pattern Paper.

There is nothing more that I enjoy more than crafting.....BUT gardening is a very close second!  If it's Spring, Summer or Fall and I have the time you will probably find me in my gardens.  I LOVE it!

Typically I look more like Pig Pen when gardening, but that's okay!  The stamp set is by Gina K Designs, Green Thumb Diva.  Images colored with Copic Markers.  Core'dinations Pattern Papers, MFT Bracket Edge Duo Border Dies, Black & White Gingham Ribbon, Tonic Corner Punch.

Before heading to the Adirondack chairs and sipping adult beverages, you'll find me in the gardens.

Thanks so much for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Happy 4th Of July From The Beach

Good Morning!  Hope you all enjoy today!

My card will be entered into the Challenge at Papertrey Ink, Adding Color To Cover Plates.

Using various shades of greens and blues I covered my Chevron Cover Plate.  I then swiped a white ink pad over the entire thing to soften the look.  The photos really don't do it justice, looks so much nicer in real life.

The sentiment is embossed using white glitter powder and die cut using Spellbinders Label 2 die.  The chairs were die cut and stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.  Stamps and Dies are the Love Notes sets.  Plain white ribbon adorned with teal Enamel Brads and topped off with a teal sheer bow.  Inside uses a border die for accent.

We actually may act out this card this afternoon sipping a cool adult beverage!

Happy 4th of July to all.......be safe!

Enjoy~~

My sweet little girl image and sentiment is by My Favorite Things, Pure Innocence, I Pick You.  Isn't she so cute standing there offering you her pretty little summer bouquet?  I wanted to make you feel the flavor of summer by using these bright, bold, happy, summer colors.  They remind me of lemonade and watermelon, 2 of summer's delights!

While my sweet girl is hand cut, the dies I used are also from My Favorite Things, Blueprints #12, this die set has so many wonderful dies, all very versatile, circles, banners, flags, flowers, leaves, etc.  Images colored with Copic Markers and accented with Sakura Glaze & Glitter Pens.  Melon Mambo Ink.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  Sheer Ribbon, Pink Ribbon Bow and White Star Stick Pin to jazz it up a bit.  I also added a little circle of Vellum to the circle die cut, adds a bit of mystery.  And a few dotted stars to the inside border.
