Matchbook Valentines X 3

Happy Saturday!

Just whipping up a few Matchbook Valentines for The Aunties.  I've added some Peppermint Patties to them, get em all hopped up on sugar!  ;)

I will enter these in the following Challenges; Simon Says Monday, Love Is In The Air, Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes! and Great Impressions, Lovey Dovey.

These are quite fun to make and come together very quickly.  I used the Simon Says stamp set, Labeled With Love (which I was actually lucky to have won).    Designer Papers are by My Mind's Eye; Kiss & Tell and Love Me.  Spellbinders Hearts die, as well as Impression Obsession Looped Heart die.

Simply Sweet.

Thanks for coming by.

2 Little Fishes

Good Morning!

I made today's card for the Challenges at Mod Squad Blog, Masculine Birthday and Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

I saw this on Pinterest and thought it would be great for my Brother-In-Law.

I used the By The Tide stamp set from Stampin' Up!  I created a wood grain background by scoring every 1/2 inch and then swiping several colors of ink over the panel....I love this look!

Mounted my wood grain background down with 'screws' of course....these screw brads are so manly.  Grabbed a skewer, cut it and sponged ink all over to mimic a primitive fishing pole, think Andy Griffith.  Stamped some coral on the focal panel, and 2 little fishes colored with Copic Markers, which were fussy cut out, I also added a bit of Stickles to make the scales sparkle.  Tied a little Jute Twine to my pole and then hot glued it down.  Added my fish.

He should love this!

Years ago I made him this card and he framed it.  :)

Thanks so much for popping in.

Home Is Where You Park It

Hello Again!

This sweet little tag was created for Challenges at Tag You're It! and Dies R Us, Stitching Real Or Faux, Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes! and Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Something New.

I used the MFT Traditional Stitched Tags to create my tag, cutting 2 and layering.  The stamps are by Art Impressions, Retired.   Image colored with Copic Markers.  My NEW item is Paper Smooches die, Foliage 2.  Ribbons, Sequins, Enamel Dot, Sakura Glitter Pen for accents.  And one large brad to hide my tire issues....

After putting this all together I realized the foliage dies remind me of palm trees and it almost looks like the camper is parked on a beach with the sun shining high above.

Thanks for driving in and parking for awhile.

Enjoy~~

Peace Within

Good Morning!  A chilly start to the day, but at least it is not like last year when we woke up to the aftermath of a blizzard....so far so good.

Today's card was made for the Challenges at Double D, Brrrrr~!, Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes! and Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Use Something New.

Of course I was drawn to those beautiful Red Cardinals....my most favorite in all the land!

I used the stamp set, Through The Trees from Papertrey Ink.  My NEW items are the dies, Memory Box, Birch Trio and MFT, Snow Drifts.

I started with a black glitter card stock and then built up my birch tree forest, adding a snowy slope.  The second row has been popped up on 3 dimensionals.  Each snowy slope has chunky glitter and each birch tree has a fine glitter added to it and then some Wink Of Stella Clear.  I stamped a bazillion Red Cardinals and then fussy cut them out.....need to find out if PTI has a matching die, these were a pain to cut out.  lol  BUT worth it, I think!  I have been wanting to make this style card for ages and now I have all the ingredients.

Thanks for flying in!

Enjoy~~

I made this card VERY long, it measures 4.25 x 9.00 inches.....yikes!  Then of course I got out my Envelope Punch Board and it doesn't make envies this large, so I made one by hand....Oh The Horror!  lol  I used the beautiful Power Poppy stamp set, Short Stacks. I just love the images and sentiments in this perfect little set!  Images colored with Copic Markers.  Designer paper by Nicole, Floral.

My NEW items are these gorgeous dies, Looped Heart Border by Impression Obsession and the Fanciful Flourish by Cheery Lynn.  Aren't they FABULOUS???  Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 die also used.  2 color coordinating Enamel Dots for accents.  White Galaxy Marker used on the water pitcher and Wink Of Stella Clear used on the Cupcake, such a subtle sparkle and shine.

LOVE this stamp.

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Simon Says Monday, Love Is In The Air, Mod Squad, Love Is In The Air, and Dies R Us, Stitching, Real Or Faux.

I die cut a Spellbinders Heart and ran it through my corrugator to manly it all up lol  Added 2 different ribbons, 1 for accent and 1 for a bow.  Sentiment is stamped on an MFT Stitched Traditional Tag die cut.  One lone Enamel Brad for accent.

Papertrey Ink January 2016 Blog Hop

Good afternoon!  What a beautiful winter day we are having, snow covered ground, blue sky, lots of sunshine.  It's quite lovely!

I made a card for the Papertrey Ink January 2016 Blog Hop, this will also be entered into the the Dies R Us Challenge, Stitching, Real Or Faux.

I was drawn to the colors and the use of a repeating shape.

I used the Papertrey Ink products, Through The Trees stamp set and the stamp and die sets from Uncorked.  I also used a Paper Smooches die, Foliage 1 and a Corner Punch.

I repeated the leaves shape by using the punched layers and the Designer Paper, which is The Gathering Collection by Authentique.  Using Copic Markers I created corresponding leaves in blues and oranges.  Yesterday I created a Valentine card using this image and used Copic Markers in many different pinks, it's a very versatile stamp!  Sentiment stamped in Pacific Point ink, and the border of the die has stitching.  2 mini Adhesive Pearls for accents.

Thanks so much for coming by, love to have you over!

Enjoy~~

Sending You My Love

Good Morning!

We have snow, real snow.....10-12 inches....too much for my liking.....although it does look pretty.  Give me a Palm Tree any day!  :)

I made a Valentine's card that I will enter into the following Challenges; MFT Sketch and Mod Squad, Love Is In The Air.

I used the MFT products, Pure Innocence, Will You Be Mine (sentiment) and the Notched Border die.  The image is from Papertrey Ink, Through The Trees stamp set.  Spellbinders Hearts die, which is in-laid.  Copic Markers, Vellum, and Enamel Dots for accents.  Designer Paper is by My Mind's Eye, Love Me!

I love these trees, you can make them masculine or feminine, pretty cool!  I have a manly card coming up with them.

Thanks so much for popping by.....glad I shoveled (well the man shoveled last night and then I went out this morning to make it look all nice lol)

Valentine Matchbook

Wow, it's been so long!  Finally got my 'sea legs' back from vacation and I think all of the rum is out of my system....oh what FUN we had!

I made this sweet little Matchbook Candy Holder (sans candy....can't buy it this early as I can not be trusted, if you know what I mean?) for the Challenge at Papertrey Ink, Matchbook Valentines.  I will also enter it into the Challenges at Mod Squad, Love Is In The Air, Great Impressions, Lovey Dovey, Scrapy Land , Love Is In The Air.

The little clothes pin is just holding it closed until I add my candy and staple it down.  I used the Papetrey Ink products, Swoosh (stamp & die) and Love & Marriage.  The Vellum Heart Strings is by Penny Black.

Using White Embossing Powder I stamped the heart and then fussy cut it out, and popped it up using dimensional foam.  Designer Papers by My Mind's Eye, Kiss & Tell.

I think I will make  several more of these for my Mom's friends aka My Crazy Aunties....they love that.....and chocolate.....and me!  <3

And here's just a few of our vacation photos......

Butterflies Are Free To Fly

Remember that oldie?

You'll thank me later when you hear yourself singing it.....all day long.  You're Welcome!  lol

Today's card will be entered into the following Challenges:  2 at Stamp TV; Just Because and Friday Funday, Brick, Scrapy Land, Anything Goes With 1 Die, and Penny Black, One For The Girls.

I had a lot of fun making this card....thanks Karen!  I used several of the Stamp TV Stamp Kits by Gina K Designs; Petals & Wings, Shabby Spring and Vintage Chic.  After 'scoring' all of my bricks I stamped the 'linen' image twice and then using masking tape and Tempting Turquoise ink I added several strips to create a warn look, I also used that technique on the Lacy Circles die cut, by Spellbinders.  Stamped the leaves several times in Always Artichoke ink and created my vine.

I stamped the butterfly image once on the die cut, then again which was fussy cut out and colored with Copic Markers and hi-lighted with a Wink Of Stella Clear Pen.  The butterfly is only adhered in the center, letting me crease the wings up to add dimension.  All layered on top of another die cut, Scalloped Circles also by Spellbinders.  Traditional Stitched Tag stamped with sentiment.  Gingham Ribbon, Turquoise Button and Jute Twine for accents.

Thanks so much for coming by, I love the company!

Enjoy~~

Sew, What's New?

Happy Wednesday!

This card will be entered into the following Challenges:

Stamp TV, Just Because
Simon Says Monday, Something New
Stamping Sensations, Anything Goes With A Die
Penny Black, One For The Girls
Mod Squad, Ombre
Dies R Us, Something New
Simon Says Wednesday, Something New
Scrapy Land, Anything Goes With Die

I made this card for the woman who lives around the corner from me, she is an amazing seamstress and helped us out during my Daughter's Wedding last year....more on that later.  I used the Gina K Designs stamp set, Sew Pretty.  The Designer Paper is Nicole Crafts, Floral Pattern.  Using my Cameo I cut a little spool out of Kraft card stock--this is the NEW item.  I then wrapped it in embroidery floss in, white, pale blue, turquoise blue, to create my Ombre effect.  Love how it came out.

I stitched the 3 panels of floral DP to the white base.  Some of the stitches are even straight (most are not lol).  Sizzix Stitched Circle And Labels die (blue die cut).  MFT Blueprints 12 die (stitched circle).  Image colored with Copic Markers and accented with Sakura Glitter Pen.  Pink Heart Button, Blue Round Button, Stick Pin, Mini Enamel Brads, Pink Ribbon and Pink Ruffle Ribbon for some pretty accents.

Years ago my Mom offered my Daughter her Wedding Dress.  Lori knew she would  probably not wear it, but we knew we could incorporate it or parts of it into Lori's Special Day.  (with my Mother's permission of course, she didn't know what we were going to do, as we wanted to surprise her).  I found Jane, who lives right around the corner and LOVES to sew.  She has been making dance outfits for her daughter for years now.

I explained to her what I had in mind and she ran with it.  Just something sentimental and simplistic.  Jane did not disappoint!  The satin from my Mom's Wedding Dress, over the course of decades, had 'yellowed' quite a bit, but Jane brought a luster back to the material somehow.  Unfortunately, I only took quick photos with my phone.

Edith Viola Brammer

She made 3 matching handkerchiefs complete with our embroidered initials.  Added the lace around the edges to the pretty satin and a sweet little button from the back of My Mom's Wedding Dress.

My Mom was so thrilled....to the moon and back, when Lori gave her this beautiful gift.

So HAPPY!

Oh Happy Day!!!  <3

Let Your Heart Dream

Good Morning!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Papertrey Ink, Ala Carte (I chose Colorful Card Corners), Penny Black, One For The Girls and Simon Says Monday, Something New.

I made a couple of cards using the Papertrey Ink stamps and die set, Daydreamer and Flower Favorites.  I stamped a butterfly background in Antique Linen ink.  Then I spritzed water on some pale Yellow ink and 'painted' all around the edges.

I added a bit too much color to the top left corner, thus the ribbon.  :)

Wasn't too crazy about the flower cluster on the first card, I tried again.....still don't care for the design.

My NEW product is the Designer Paper, Crimson, by American Crafts.  I must say I do LOVE all the RED....just not the cards.

Red Gingham Ribbon for accent!

Thanks for coming by.

Enjoy~~
