mmmm coffee

Good Morning!

Just a simple little card for the Challenges at MFT Color and MFT Sketch and for Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

I used the Grab A Cup stamp set from Flourishes.  Stamped the coffee cup image onto Kraft card stock, then stamped that with the little hot cup of coffee image.  Fussy cut it out.  The same with the little coffee beans.  All images 'hi-lighted' with Copic Markers.  The papers are just little pieces from my stash.  I used a Crop-A-Dile to punch 3 holes in the top left, and backed them in the matching orange paper.    Sentiment stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink onto a banner that was die cut using MFT's Blueprints #12.  Corner rounder punch.

A simple little card, I wish I had some coffee 'scratch and sniff' to add to this, but maybe a coffee gift card will suffice.

Hope you are all able to enjoy your weekend!

Enjoy~~

The Happiest Of Birthdays

Good Afternoon!

This card will be entered into the Challenge at Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!    I also entered into the March Release Challenge at Stamp TV.

I was inspired by a card on Pinterest.  The stamp sets are from Gina K Designs, Eclectic Summer and Spring Parade.  I stamped my images on one piece of card stock and colored them with Copic Markers, then I cut them into 3 panels and adhered it to a piece of black card stock to add borders and make the colors POP!  Added a bit of Sakura Glitter pen, an enamel brad and several adhesive pearls.  The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Vellum with a backing of white card stock.

A simple little birthday card.

Thanks for coming by.

Enjoy~~

Be Happy In Pink And Green

Good afternoon!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenges at PTI, Stamping And Mixing Patterns and Simon Says Monday, One Stamp, Many Ways.

I found this photo on Pinterest as my inspiration.

I used several stamp sets from Papertrey Ink, City Scene, Happy Hexagons, Pretty Petals, and Uncorked.  I made 3 different small panels of Designer Paper using inks in Melon Mambo, Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi.

I also used an MFT Mini Tab die and an EK Success (3 layer) Butterfly Punch.  Pink and green ribbons, eyelets, Vellum and a few rhinestones for accents.

So fun to make your own Designer Paper.

You Color My World

Hello Again!

This card will be entered into the Challenge at the Mod Squad, hosted by my online BFF, Judy Woodland.  The Challenge is appropriately titled Magazine Madness.

O. M. Gee!

My card initially started with flowers.  They were crumpled up and tossed.  Then I went with starfish and seashells......yup they also were crumpled up and tossed.

Color....I just went with color!

Using Papertrey Ink's Hexagon Cover Plate, I cut out a black frame and then all the different shades of colors in pink, yellow, orange, green, teal, blue and purple.  Then I glued the black frame and all of the little hexagon colors onto chipboard to give it a little more oomph!

The sentiment is from A life She Loved, stamp set by Taylored Expressions.  Stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, background lightly colored with a BG10 Copic Marker, Cool Shadow.  The word COLOR also uses Copic Markers and is topped off with a bit of Dazzling Details from Stampin' Up!  Their 'brand' of Stickles.  I poked 2 holes to add some plain white knotted ribbon and also left the inside a blank white, thought the contrast might stand out.

This was very challenging for me.....but I think I am happy with my result.

Thanks so much for coming by.

Enjoy~~

Have A Lovely Day

Good Morning!

Today's card will be entered into the MFT, Bonus Sketch Challenge, they have teamed up with PageMaps for this one.

I literally followed the sketch.  Designer Papers by Authentique, The Gathering Collection.  I made a hand cut tag, rounded corners, punched out the top portion with an EK Success label punch, I used a Spellbinders Small Labels die for the bottom portion.

You can see the sequins here.
I wanted to do something with that bottom window, so I covered it with Vellum, then I decided to make a little shaker box.  Cut a frame using fun foam and 2 of the Spellbinders dies, which makes it so easy to create a shaker, then filled it with orange sequins and bronze glitter.  It's hard to see because of my Vellum layer, but you can hear it for sure!

Using MFT's Blueprints #12 banner die, I cut out 2 banners, one in Ivory card stock one in the Designer Paper.  I also used another punch from the EK Success label punch.  Got out my little Janome Sewing Machine and sewed the seam down the middle and the 2 tags in the upper left corner.  Popped up the tag with 3D dots and adhered my tag, topped with a sentiment from MFT's Sweet Roses stamp set, a few scattered sequins and some Baker's Twine.

Thanks so much for coming by, I really appreciate you doing so!

Enjoy and have a lovely day!

Birthday Wine

Good Morning!  Yes we have more snow, yes the calendar says it's Spring and yes it is snowing again, RIGHT NOW!  Yes, these are the reasons I make so many cards, I just lock myself away in my craft room!

Today's card will be entered into the MFT Sketch Challenge.

This was a great sketch to play with.  I started with some pretty background paper, Teresa Collins, Hello, My Name Is.   I found a package of cork paper I had in my stash and cut that out using a Spellbinders Classic Circle die and topped with a Scallop Circle in white card stock.  The stamp and matching die set is Uncorked by Papertrey Ink.  MFT products, Blueprints #12, using the banner die and the 2 little dot dies (which I used under the 3 enamel brads).  Some vellum layered on both wine glasses  and over the long panel which is popped up on 3D dots.

Inside Sentiment

If this weather continues, I see a lot of wine in my future!  lol

Thanks for coming by, hope you are all actually experiencing a real Spring like day!

Enjoy~~

Easter Baskets

Good Morning!  Happy Spring!  I am writing this post Thursday afternoon, so I won't be disappointed that there is probably snow out there or on it's way.....so Happy Spring!

These cards will be entered into the Challenges at Simon Says Wednesday, Spring Pinterest Inspiration and  Curtain Call, Jelly Bean.
Pinterest Spring Inspiration

I thought it would be a good idea just to make all the same style Easter cards. (I have 4 made and needed 6 more)  Next time remind me to make an easier card.  These have a lot of elements.

I cut the eggs out in heavy card stock using my Cameo, then cut out more eggs in pretty Designer Papers and glued them together.  I ran some of them through my Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots and a Diamond and Dots Embossing Folders to add some texture.  Each egg has the corresponding ink color sponged on their edges.  Using Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors I made 'grass' in 2 different colors.  Gina K Designs stamps used, the basket from Holiday Basket and the sentiment from Basket Blessings.  Stampin' Up! Inks in Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Wild Wasabi.  Basket image colored with Copic Markers.  Spellbinders Classic Oval die.

Different colored ribbons and enamel brads used for accents.  Background uses a Lattice Embossing Folder.

Extra postage required.....bummer!

Happy Spring!  (being positive!)  lol

Enjoy~~

One Layer Collage

Good Afternoon!

The sun is shining, the winds are howling, man is it cold out, still feels like winter.  I know the calendar predicts Spring will arrive tomorrow, but I fear it may not.  *sigh*  Oh well, one day at a time!

I made this card for the Challenges at Stamp TV, One Layer Collage, (hosted by my dear friend, Karen Hightower) and at Simon Says Monday, Lions And Lambs, to use a 'critter' on your project.

I think Karen said she used 13 different stamp sets on her card, egads....I have only used 9....only!  lol

At first I felt intimidated by this Challenge, but once I started stamping I felt more at ease.  Although I definitely stamped in a more organized fashion, a more structured collage, more orderly and balanced.  I don't know if this is what Karen intended us to do, but this is how I did it.  hahaha  Not so carefree after all.  Who knew?  The only accents are the itty bitty brads from Stampin' Up! in green and blue.

I used the following Gina K Designs stamp sets;  Botanicals, Elegant Elements, Labeled With Love, Lots Of Washi, Signs Of Spring, Springtime Silhouettes, Stamper's Favorites and Stipple Nature, Tropical Flowers.

Distress Inks in;  Antique Linen, Broken China, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Weathered Wood and Wild Honey.

Next time I think I will stamp in a more willy nilly fashion.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy~~

Two Hearts Become One

Good Morning!  I look at the calendar and it says Spring arrives tomorrow.....I step outside and Mother Nature says, No Way.....It's Still Winter!  C'mon!!!

Today I have a little wedding card to share with you, I will probably use it as a gift tag even though it does measure 4" x 4".  This will be entered into the Challenge at PTI, Confetti Cluster Stamping.  It's a fun little technique, here's Lizzie Jones'  VIDEO to show you how!

I used many little stamps from a few of Papertrey Ink sets which include, City Scene, Happy Hexagons, Love And Marriage and Polka Dot Parade #9.   I used many Stampin' Up! inks; Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette,  Pool Party, So Saffron, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi.

The only thing I did differently than the video was to cut my shape out from copy paper, using a Spellbinders Heart die.  Then I simply used the negative portion to 'mask' my stamping space out.  Seemed silly to trace the image when I already had what I needed.  Just a little shortcut!

Here are the images I used:

City Scene 'dots', Happy Hexagons flower, Love And Marriage Hearts and Polka Dot Parade # 9 star.

This is really a FUN way to create an image, the possibilities are endless!  My dear friend Barbara was so clever to create this beauty because she's smart like that!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in, I really do appreciate you doing so!

Enjoy~~

Shore Do Love You!

Good afternoon!

Popping in with a little card I made for the MFT, Color Challenge.

I used the fun little stamp set by Reverse Confetti, Happy Harbor. It's full of sweet little images all beach, sea and harbor related.   I stamped the anchor image all over the background card stock willy nilly.  Then added a layer of vellum to soften the look, perhaps you could imagine the fog rolling in.  The center die is by MFT, Vertical Greetings, I also used their Notched Border die on the insideSpellbinders Classic and Scallop Circle dies.  Stampin' Up! inks in; Calypso Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Dove Gray by Memento.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder to add some texture, a wee bit of Jute Twine knotted, eyelets and sequins to add accents.

A fun little card using a fun little set.

Hope you are enjoying this happy day!

Just Because...

Hello Again!

I made a sweet little card for the Challenge over at Hero Arts, Bright And Bold.

The Hero Arts image is, Spring Tulips, colored with watercolor pencils, sentiment from their Everyday Sayings stamp set.  I also dabbed different colors all around the image, it looks pretty good in real life, and adds quite a bit of contrast.  A partial cut of a doily adhered to the back of the focal image, 2 eyelets and enamel brads as accents.  Inside uses an MFT Open Bracket Border.

I'm so happy to be coloring flowers and playing with bright, bold colors......aren't you?

Thanks for popping in!

Daydreamer

Hello Again!

Let me just say I have fallen in LOVE with one of my new stamp sets, from Papertrey Ink, Daydreamer.  It is an older set but I find it utterly delicious!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at PTI, Watercolor Smooshing and Simon Says Monday, B Is For.....

Betsy has a wonderful VIDEO showing exactly how to smoosh, in case you don't know how to.  lol

I used inks in  Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.  Nice and bright colors, love the Spring time feel you get from them.  And smooshed them all on to my acrylic block, and then placed my watercolor paper on it.  The stamp set is Daydreamer, by PTI.  I stamped the flowers directly on to watercolor paper and a second time which I fussy cut out and popped up on 3 dimensional dots.  Some 'randomly' tossed pink sequins for a little accent and that is all.

I really love the artsy feel of the backgrounds, I liked it so much I made 2 of them for this card.  An easy technique, watch the video and give it a try.  Inside I used 2 border dies from MFT, Dotted Scallop and Open Bracket

Last week I received my order from Papertrey Ink, I had won an $80 Gift Certificate from one of their Anniversary Challenges.  Whahoo!  I chipped in $11 of my own and here is what I received....Happy Mail for sure!

Stitched Pinked Edge Label Die, Polka Dot Parade # 9 Die, Simple Sunflower Die, Daydreamer Stamp Set, Hexagon and Chevron Vertical Cover Plate Dies, Christmas Sentiments Mini, Polka Dot Parade Mini, Simple Sunflower Mini, and Happy Hexagons Mini Stamp Sets.  FUN!!!

Thank You Papertrey Ink

Thanks so much for popping in for a closer look!
