Happy Poppies

Hello!

This card will be entered into the Challenge at Altenew

I saw this technique from Jen McGuire, Distress Ink Lifting, and thought I would give it a try.  OMG....LOVE it!!!  Do yourself a favor and at least watch her video!

I used Altenew's Painted Poppy stamp and die sets.  Not too crazy abut that popped up leaf, so I will probably remove it.  Using Versa Mark ink and White Embossing Powder I stamped the poppies and heated them.  Then taking Distress ink in Broken China I covered the entire panel, smooshing ink into every white part of the card stock.  Then with a water brush I just began 'painting' the water onto the flowers, what an amazing look!  I also used Distress ink in Peeled Paint for the stems and leaves.

This panel was then placed on a piece of Black card stock and then a piece of Gold card stock.  I made the Gold panel by running some toner paper through my Mini Minc.  I then actually cut out a window within the rectangle leaving just a border of Gold, this way I have a nice piece of Gold Foiled card stock to make chip board accents out of using dies and punches.  Wicked Smahhht!  Sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink.  Large Gold Sequins for accents.

I can't wait to try this technique again, I bet every time, you achieve a whole different look!

Thanks for poppy-ing by!

Enjoy~~

Tiny Bubbles

Hello!

This tag will be entered into the Challenges at Papertrey Ink, Watercolor Resist and Simon Says Monday, Inspired By A Song and ScrapyLand, Tie One On.

I used the Papertrey Ink stamp and die sets, Uncorked and Swoosh.  The VIDEO that Lexi shared showed us how to use Rubber Cement for the Emboss Resist Technique.  It was kind of cool to do.  I just wanted to make little dots like bubbles in Champagne or Wine.  I used my Mini Minc to Gold Foil the die cut congratulations and the tops of the wine bottles--you know it's expensive wine when it's wrapped in Gold Foil, right???  MFT Cross Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Traditional Tags used.

Inks in Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.  Gold Button, Teal Sheer Ribbon and Jute Twine for accents.  I really love how the colors and bubbles came out.  May have to try this technique again and again.

The song that inspired this tag is by Don Ho, Tiny Bubbles.....so sorry but this song sticks with you ALL day......

I'll drink to that!

Enjoy~~

Butterfly Tag

Good Morning!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenges at; MFT Sketch, MFT Color, Simon Says Monday, Inspired By A Song, Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes! and Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Floral.

(oh bummer his little butterfly antenna is smooshed)
I used the MFT Stitched Tradition Tags and Blueprints 12 die cuts, Cheery Lynn Butterfly 6 die as well as PTI's Swoosh stamp and die sets.  The floral die cut background is Michael's Brand, Recollections.  Eyelet and Ribbon for accents.  I colored the Vellum Butterfly with Copic markers and then 'painted' on a bit of Pearl Ex for shimmer.  I don't know why I don't color Vellum more often, totally changes up the look.

The song that inspired this card is by Mariah Carey, Butterfly:

Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly
Fly abandonedly into the sun
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly
Butterfly

Gosh when my daughter was young she played Mariah all the time.....flashback!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy~~

Fight. Like A Girl

Hello!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Cheery Lynn, Add A Flourish, Simon Says Monday, Inspired By A Song, and Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

I used the Flourishes stamp set, Think Pink, although this is anything but pink.  One of my best gal pal's younger sister has been diagnosed with Melanoma and has started treatment.  Melanoma's cancer awareness color is black, so I decided to make a black and white card and send it off to her.  Several die cuts used, Cheery Lynn; Fanciful Flourish, Paper Smooches; Foliage 1, MFT; Cross Stitched Rectangles and Spellbinder's Classic Ovals.  A little Martha Stewart Black Glitter on the Awareness Ribbon, Sequins and Gingham Ribbon for accents.

The song that inspired this card is by Pink, So What.....you know that catchy little tune where Pink wants to start a fight......I pray that MaryAnn will fight this with all of her might.  If you're inclined to do so, please say a prayer.  Thank You!

Be Well!

Enjoy~~

Papertrey Ink February 2016 Blog Hop

Good Morning!

Participating in the Papertrey Ink February 2016 Blog Hop this month!

My card will also be entered into the Challenges at ScrapyLand, Tie One On, Simon Says Monday, Inspired By A Song and Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

I chose to work in shades of greens and pinks in this beautiful inspirational photo!

I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Love And Marriage.  My dies are MFT Die-namics; Cross Stitched Rectangles, Paper Smooches; Foliage 2, Penny Black; Heart Strings, Impression Obsession; Looped Heart Border, and Spellbinders; Hearts. 2 ribbons.

My song lyrics come from an old Frank Sinatra song, Who Could Ask For Anything More?, here's a portion of the song:

Just imagine someone
Waiting at the cottage door
Where two hearts become one
Who could ask for anything more?

This little beauty will be winging it's way off to Canada today to celebrate the wedding of a dear friend of my daughter and son-in-law's (you know I looooove throwing that term out any chance I get)

To very happy days!

Gold Butterfly Birthday

Good Morning!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenge at ScrapyLand, Tie One On.

After our daughter's wedding last year, a dear friend sent us a lovely note on this gorgeous Papyrus Note Card.  I immediately knew I would make her birthday card from this beautiful paper!

It has the feel of 'home made' paper with beautiful rich tones of light pink and dark rose with gold accents.  I knew pairing my Mini Minc and Gold Foil would be a perfect combo!

Using the Toner Papers by Heidi Swapp, I die cut the Cheery Lynn Butterfly 6 and Fanciful Flourish and then added my Gold Foil.....WOW!  Check out the bit of flourish on the inside, you can really see the gold tone shine!  It's difficult to get the camera to pick up the foiling on the butterfly and large portion of the flourish, the photos really don't do it justice.....or it could just be the operator!  :)

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Happy Hexagons stamp set, stamped in Melon Mambo ink onto a Traditional Stitched Tag by MFT.  Pearl Flower Button, Sheer Pink Ribbon (which was wired, but I removed it all) and some Jute Twine to tie everything together.

I hope Betty recognizes the paper and doesn't mind I used it in this way.  I had a second piece saved, but over the weekend I was Puppy Sitting, and somehow my little Hankie Doodle got a hold of it and ate it....the dog ate my homework lol

Pretty In Pink!

Enjoy~~

Spring Has Sprung Shaker

Hello!

I made another Shaker card, I think this is the 3rd one in a matter of days....so much FUN to create!  This will be entered into the Challenge at Simon Says Wednesday, Shake It Up!

I used the Gina K Designs stamp sets, Basket Blessings and Spring Has Sprung.  Images colored with Copic markers.  I made the shaker portion using MFT's Stitched Traditional Tags and fun foam.

Shaker is filled with glitter in gold and yellows and large orange sequins.  Cheery Lynn's Fanciful Flourish accent.

Just FUN to make!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy~~

Manly Valentine

Good Morning!

Just one more Valentine.  This little card of love was sent to a very special man, Judy's Dad.  He thinks it's quite funny that we are the best of friends and have never met...well, I guess he's kind of right.  :)

I will be entering this card into the Challenges at Dies R Us, Use Red And Dies and Simon Says Monday, Upcycle/Recycle.

Another wood grain background, but I think it adds so much and totally makes the card manly!  The sentiment is from Simon Says, Labeled With Love.  Spellbinders Hearts die and MFT Blueprints #12 dies.  After die cutting out the large heart I then did a smaller one inside, made another heart die which I then covered in Gold Foil with my Minc.  I quite love just adding a touch of gold here and there with that little gizmo, so fun!

The small heart that was cut out of the wood grain panel I then layered upon several heart die cuts out of card board from our recycling bin, this was from a Cheerios box, creating a chipboard accent, where the sentiment gets tucked behind.  Designer Papers by Theresa Collins, Hello My Name Is.

Thanks for popping in, love it when you do!

Enjoy~~

Some Bunny Loves You Shaker

Good Morning!  Happy Friday!

Today's card will be entered into the following Challenges; Papertrey Ink, Customizing Patterned Paper, Simon Says Monday, Upcycle and Simon Says Wednesday, Shake It Up, To Make A Shaker Card.

Just one more reason why crafters are pack rats, see that empty Spellbinders die packaging?  Yup, it now gets turned into the window for my Shaker cards!  Not only will my card be interactive and fun, I am helping the environment....Go Me!  ;)

My Designer Paper is by DCWV, The Basics And The Brights.  Using the little heart stamp from Papertrey Ink's Swoosh stamp set, I stamped a little border of hearts in Melon Mambo ink, it totally frames the Shaker, cool!  All other stamps are from their Polka Dot Parade #1 set.  Don't you just love that sweet little Bunny stamped in Pink Pirouette ink as well as all of the little accent hearts.  Just precious.

MFT Cross Stitch Rectangle dies used for the Shaker itself.

I also did something a bit different to my window, I actually added texture using my Swiss Dots Embossing Folder--this really looks neat.....try it!  I don't know if anyone else has been doing it but I LOVE it!  Little button for the Bunny's sweet little tail....cuuuute!  Sequins and Glitter for the fun stuff!

Thanks so much for shakin' on down the road!

Enjoy~~

Sending Love, Prayers And Strength

Good Morning!

Just a little card to share with you today.  I will be entering it into the following Challenges; Simon Says Monday, Upcycle, Double D, Red And White, and Dies R Us, Use Red And Dies.

I am also posting this at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, where you can leave a card in a gallery for the Cox Family.  You may read about their story HERE.  This is not a Challenge but just a little Gallery to express care and concern.  Please participate, you know what a generous lot we as card makers are!

I grabbed this Rice Pilaf box out of our recycling bin, knew I could make some chipboard die cuts out of it.

I used the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps  products; Girlfriend Stamps and Friendly Flowers Dies, and Casual Comfort Stamps.  Designer Paper is Crimson from American Crafts.

I just made a bunch of die cut flower pieces and then stamped and assembled.  Quite fun to make a garden appear out of the recycling bin!  I stamped the words onto a flower die in Real Red ink, love how it fits right in.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  The days are getting longer, it is still bright at 5:30 here....YAY!

Enjoy~~

From The Heart Challenge

I'm Hosting the Challenge over at The Mod Squad, FROM THE HEART

The challenge this week...is to make a card that incorporates.....you guessed it.....HEARTS.

This Weeks Sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/

All the stamps and Fri-Dies are designed by Michele , and are based on her love for Clean And Simple design, hence the CAS in CAS-ual. However, they will delight any stamper's style! Whether you are a CAS enthusiast or a lover of Utterly Adorable Layers, you will have a blast getting inky with them.

The stamps are made in the USA of the finest clear photopolymer, and the coordinating line of wafer thin dies are also made in the USA.

2 Prizes Up For Grabs!

2 - $15 Gift Certificate each to the STORE

I used the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps,  3 In A Row and matching dies, Tic-Tac-Toe.  Grabbing my Minc Foiling Machine, I added some pretty Gold Foil to my die cut hearts.  Stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Ink.

Finished off the inside with a second sentiment and a pretty little heart.

I used the same CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for a different look.  Stamping sentiments, 'nuff said and xoxo while using heart die cut outs in many different Designer Papers.  I first drew 3 straight lines using a Sakura Silver Glitter pen so I could line my hearts up adding Adhesive Pearls for accents.

A few hours left to play.....Challenge ends at noon on Tuesday!

Painted Poppy

Good afternoon!

I just left the sentiment as HAPPY.....may make this into an Easter card and stamp something inside.  Remember Easter is super early this year, March 27th.....plan accordingly!

Happy Mail Thank You!

Good Morning!  A bit chilly here....-3 degrees, feels like -24.....yikes!  It's going to warm up to 13, so that will be great!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenge at Papertrey Ink, Saturday Happy Mail.  To make a thank you card for the PTI's Warehouse Crew AND mail it!  I always loooooooooove getting orders fro PTI, first because, it's new stamping supplies, secondly they wrap each order like a special little gift, almost makes it easier on the wallet--they know what they're doing!  lol

I made a little Shaker Happy Mail Thank You card.  I started with the Phrase Play #5 die as my shaker base, Hexagons Cover Plate die, Happy Hexagons, Simple Sunflowers and Swoosh stamp sets....all by Papertrey Ink.  I got a great deal on the Designer Paper at Michael's one day.  Original price 19.99 for a 12x12 pad on sale for 5.99....I got 2 different ones.  This is  Tea Party by Craft Smith.  Filled with beautiful colors and fabulous flowers AND some great metallic papers too, like this dotted one.  Once I found the paper I knew I had to drag my Minc out and add some Gold Foil accents, a match made in heaven! I Foiled the 'happy' and some hexagon die cuts, they really POP!

MFT Traditional Stitch Tag die, large Gold Sequins, Ribbon and Jute Twine for accents.  Corner Rounder and EK Success Tag Punch for small sentiments.

Whenever I make a Shaker card I ALWAYS use this technique Heather shares with us in this video, makes life super easy!  Shaker Card Video.

What a nice thing to do, have us all thank the PTI Warehouse Crew for all of their hard work!  I love Companies who know they can't do it all by themselves!  YAY to you all!

Thanks so much for popping by!

Hope you get some Happy Mail this week!  (Nancy I owe you one!)

Enjoy~~
