Happy Anniversary Poppy

I made this card yesterday, not sure if it's Artsy or just rhymes with Artsy.....  ;)

I will enter it into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, A Ray Of Sunshine.  It is bright AND sunny!

I used my new stamp and die set from Altenew, Painted Poppy.  I LOVE this set and am experimenting with it.  I stamped the Poppy in Dove Grey and Tuxedo Black inks on to water color paper.  Sentiment stamped in Tuxedo Black ink.  Then using a water brush and some Daffodil Delight ink I colored the entire background.

Using the die I cut out the Poppy and one leaf.  Stamped images.  Adhered to the card base.  Yellow and white Gingham Ribbon for accent.  I find I love just tying the ribbons in a knot and not a bow, I can not remember the last time I made a bow.
Eh...It looked so much better in my head.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you're not all tied up in knots!

  1. FABulous!!! What a bright cheerful card! I see a whole lotta mojo!!!!

  2. You know, if you took off the Happy Anniversary, this looks just like a Picasso! Seriously! I love the colors and how you did the background. The stamped poppy in black is genius and looks great. Love it!

  3. Such a pretty card, the yellow is perfect. Thank you so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Hugs, Sandra

  4. A great card, love the colors and how you used the die in this layout!

  5. It certainly is a ray of sunshine. Love the cheerful yellow and the grey background with the single colored poppy and leaf.

  6. I just love this sunny, sweet card. Putting the leaf over the ribbon is genius. Great water coloring too, can't wait to see what else you do with the stamp set. It's a keeper, as is your card!!

  7. NO, this doesn't just rhyme with is artsy. Love the black stamped flower behind the die cut one. Like Judy, I think the leaf over the ribbon is genious

  8. Beautiful stamp set and I love the effect you created. Pretty colors, so bright and happy. And there is that pretty gingham ribbon to it!
