This card will be entered into the Challenge at Altenew.
I saw this technique from Jen McGuire, Distress Ink Lifting, and thought I would give it a try. OMG....LOVE it!!! Do yourself a favor and at least watch her video!
I used Altenew's Painted Poppy stamp and die sets. Not too crazy abut that popped up leaf, so I will probably remove it. Using Versa Mark ink and White Embossing Powder I stamped the poppies and heated them. Then taking Distress ink in Broken China I covered the entire panel, smooshing ink into every white part of the card stock. Then with a water brush I just began 'painting' the water onto the flowers, what an amazing look! I also used Distress ink in Peeled Paint for the stems and leaves.
This panel was then placed on a piece of Black card stock and then a piece of Gold card stock. I made the Gold panel by running some toner paper through my Mini Minc. I then actually cut out a window within the rectangle leaving just a border of Gold, this way I have a nice piece of Gold Foiled card stock to make chip board accents out of using dies and punches. Wicked Smahhht! Sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink. Large Gold Sequins for accents.
I can't wait to try this technique again, I bet every time, you achieve a whole different look!
Thanks for poppy-ing by!
Enjoy~~
Well, this is just gawjus!!! I was intrigued by that video too, I must watch it again. I love the look you achieved, especially with the white EP. Really makes the poppies stand out. This is just beautiful, and you are so clever to save the gold foiling.....smahhht indeed!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Love those poppies and that gold edge. What a clever girl you are saving the gold foiling
ReplyDeleteThose poppies looks like floating clouds. I will need to watch the video again. I have not had a chance to try it, but this card has motivated me to try it. I an not surprised that a clever girl like you would cut out a gold foil window and use it somewhere else. Alwasy thinking.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! I love those poppies. I agree though with the popped leaf as it doesn't have the same dreamy affect as the other parts of the design. But maybe in person it looks much better. And great save on the foil too!
ReplyDeleteJust popping by to say this is gorgeous. I aw the video, and this is a new trick. You nailed the process.
ReplyDeleteI really need to watch that video! Love your gorgeous poppies!
