YOU Are Beautiful

Back Again!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at; Simon Says Monday, Layer It Up and Simon Says Wednesday, Use More Than One Die Or Punch.

I Used the a few different stamp sets to get the sentiment I wanted.  The 'you' die is from the Stamp Of Approval Beautiful World set, it's by CAS-ual Fridays, All About You.  The 'are' stamp is also from that set.  The 'beautiful' is by Power Poppy, the In Praise Of Sunflowers stamp set, don't you just love that font?

Designer Papers by Papertrey Ink, Classic Kraft and I think the Butterfly Paper is by Bo Bunny.  Large Buttefly die by Crafty Ann, Butterfly #6.  The smaller one is by Dies R Us, Butterfly #2 Set.  MFT Open Bracket Border die.  Calypso Coral ink covered with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.  Vellum.

Is That A Chip On Your Shoulder.....

Happy Wednesday!

I am hosting this week's Challenge at The Mod Squad Challenge !  Come join in all of the fun and play along!

Challenge
This week's Challenge is,
Is That A Chip On Your Shoulder.....Or Card?

Incorporate chipboard into your project.  It could be a store bought chipboard accent or you could make your own by die or fussy cutting several layers of the same image and stacking them.  Your choice!

Remember if you do not follow the challenge, your entry will not qualify for the prize.

All the stamps and Fri-Dies are designed by Michele , and are based on her love for Clean And Simple design, hence the CAS in CAS-ual. However, they will delight any stamper's style! Whether you are a CAS enthusiast or a lover of Utterly Adorable Layers, you will have a blast getting inky with them.
The stamps are made in the USA of the finest clear photopolymer, and the coordinating line of wafer thin dies are also made in the USA.

  2 Prizes
2 - $15 Gift Certificate each to the STORE

Here is my project:

I used the Happy Mail stamp set and matching Mailbox die from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.  I also used the Casual Comfort stamp set to create my grassy lawn.  I die cut the mailbox out of Ivory card stock and then again in Brown, Silver and Red Glitter card stocks, layering them to create a nice sturdy chipboard element.  My envelopes were die cut 3 times, twice in Ivory and once in White card stocks.  I then layered them all together, colored the top ones with Copic Markers and then jazzed them all up with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I think this creates the happiest of Happy Mail!

Sentiment and grass stamped in Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive inks.

There is quite a thickness to this card.

So put on your thinking caps, grab your most favorite dies or sharpest scissors and get a move on!

This is my last 'official' Challenge Post for The Mod Squad Challenge Blog.  I have loved the past year working along with this AMAZING Design Team and hosting these Challenges, but it's time to give someone else a chance and I really just want to play along!  Thanks for all of your kindness and support it is greatly appreciated!  Don't worry I'm really not going anywhere.  Thank so much!  xoxo

What's That You Say?

Happy Wednesday!

I'm hosting this week's Challenge at the Mod Squad Blog!  Come on over and join in all of the fun and play along!

Challenge
This week's Challenge is,

What's That You Say?
To use a sentiment as your focal point.

Remember if you do not follow the challenge, your entry will not qualify for the prize.

Here's my 1st card

I saw a beautiful card on Pinterest by Yoonsun Hur and wanted to try my hand at it I used the sentiment from Wonderful Words and the Lotus Flower image from Mon Ami with matching die Mon Ami Fleur.  To create my background I used a damp sponge paint brush and just painted on some Daffodil Delight ink, moving back and forth across my card stock.  Flower colored with Copic Markers, sentiment stamped in Black Licorice ink.  Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow and mini Adhesive Rhinestones for accents.

My 2nd card

This card uses the Casual Comfort image and sentiments from Mon Ami and the Love Ya die.  I stamped my images in Pink Pirouette ink and centered my smaller sentiment.  Then lining up my Love Ya die I cut that from my stamped background, making sure I kept every little bit of die cut, positive and negative.  Then I cut the Love Ya die 4 more times from pale pink card stock.

I adhered my background panel to a layer of pale pink card stock and then to my card stock base.  This makes it much easier to layer the die cut parts back into the negative space.  Make sure you layer the stamped cut last.

It adds a nice POP to the card.

A strip of Designer Paper and a few randomly (wink, wink) placed sequins for accents.

So let's see AND hear what your cards have to say!

Happy Wishes

Good Morning!

If you happen to be out and about today and see my Mom, don't forget to wish her a Happy 86th Birthday!  Isn't that the best???

My card will be entered into the Challenges at CAS-ual Fridays, Birthday Girl and at Simon Says Wednesday, Flowers.

I used the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps set Wonderful Words to create my card.  I masked off the sentiment and chose to use just the words not the large ampersand that is also on the stamp.  One stamped flower colored with Copic Markers.  The other flower I made into a chipboard accent.  Stamped the image on to Designer Paper and die cut it out using a Spellbinders Standard Circle die.  I also die cut 3 more circles out of thick heavy duty card stock, it may be #140, then I glued them all together and topped it with the stamped flower.

Created a small tag using a Sizzix Tags And Labels die.  Added Jute Twine and my chipboard accent as well as 2 enamel dots for accents and a wee bit of the Designer Paper.  Black and White Gingham ribbon.  A thin black ribbon to the left, covering the different designs on the paper. This is a double sided piece of Designer Paper, that small polka dot print is on the other side.  This side shows you the 2 prints together, the polka dot is just a strip along the paper so you can see the 2 together, but I love how it looks against the flourish print so I used it.  Adhesive pearl flourish and several smaller ones and my card was complete.  If you look at the piece of Designer Paper I used as an inside accent, you will l see I did the same thing, using the side with both prints.  Cute!

Thanks for stopping by.....we have cake!!!

Enjoy~~

Retiform Technique

Happy Wednesday!

I am hosting this week's Challenge over at the Mod Squad Blog.

Now don't be scared by the title.....give it a try, I think you'll find you LOVE it!

Challenge

Retiform Challenge

Retiform:  :  composed of crossing lines and interstices :

This is achieved by placing down paper (copy paper / post-it-notes) and then sponging ink on to different sections of the card stock, moving the paper as you go, to create colorful little sections.

2 - $15 Gift Certificate each to the STORE

Using inks in Wild Wasabi and Tempting Turquoise I created my retiform lines.  This technique makes little 'windows' of color, perfect for stamping and showcasing images and words. The stamp set is Wonderful Words.  Stamping in Black Licorice ink I just filled in all of the lovely little windows.  Sheer Ribbon for accent.

This time using Distress inks in Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey I created my retiform lines.  I used several stamp sets for this card; Casual Comfort, Girlfriend and 3 In A Row.  Inside I used the heart die from  Tic-Tac-Toe.  All images and sentiments stamped in Black Licorice ink.  A little Black and White Gingham Ribbon threaded through a Spellbinders Ribbon Buckle die for accent.

Don't be afraid to try new things....as we used to say to the kids when they were little, take a 'no-thank you bite'.  Try it once and if you don't like it just say, no thank you!

My 1st Card

I used the wonderful Girlfriend stamp set and the Friend die set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.  I first stamped lots of colorful flowers all over the bottom portion of my card.  Inks in; Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi.  Then I die cut friend out in 2 spots, top and bottom.  I added the colorful friend to the top portion offsetting the word so it pops a bit more when backed with Black card stock.  Added 2 of the sentiments from the Girlfriend set stamped in Black Licorice ink.  Tied on some Black and White Gingham ribbon and 2 adhesive Rhinestones for accents.

My 2nd Card

This card also uses the Girlfriend  stamp set and the Friendly Flowers die set.  I die cut the largest flower out of my tag and then using the smaller 2 piece flower I inlaid them, filling the negative space with my positive die cuts.  Added a bit of ribbon and small stamped colored flower for accents.  Sentiment stamped in Black Licorice ink on hand cut flag banner.

Sending Love, Prayers And Strength

Good Morning!

Just a little card to share with you today.  I will be entering it into the following Challenges; Simon Says Monday, Upcycle, Double D, Red And White, and Dies R Us, Use Red And Dies.

I am also posting this at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, where you can leave a card in a gallery for the Cox Family.  You may read about their story HERE.  This is not a Challenge but just a little Gallery to express care and concern.  Please participate, you know what a generous lot we as card makers are!

I grabbed this Rice Pilaf box out of our recycling bin, knew I could make some chipboard die cuts out of it.

I used the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps  products; Girlfriend Stamps and Friendly Flowers Dies, and Casual Comfort Stamps.  Designer Paper is Crimson from American Crafts.

I just made a bunch of die cut flower pieces and then stamped and assembled.  Quite fun to make a garden appear out of the recycling bin!  I stamped the words onto a flower die in Real Red ink, love how it fits right in.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  The days are getting longer, it is still bright at 5:30 here....YAY!

Enjoy~~
