Joyful Christmas

Hello again!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at; Papertrey Ink, Background Building With Frames and Kat Scrappiness, World Card Making Day.

Okay, we all know how it works when a card just happens, it takes us where it wants to go.  This card was not that kind.....I got in too deep with this design and well there was no turning back.  Let's just say I am not crazy about it....at all.  But a card is a card is a card.

I used the Papertrey Ink products, Fabulous Frames die and the Joyful Christmas stamp and die sets.  The frames were all cut from White Glitter card stock and arranged on the card base.  Then to soften the look a added a layer of Vellum.

Trees were die cut and stamped in Wild Wasabi and Pool Party inks.  Sentiment heat embossed in Green Glittery Powder on a Vellum strip.  Memory Box Twilight Snowflake dies were layered together.  Enamel Dots for accents.  I also added a bit of texture on the inside using a Darice Snowflake Embossing Folder.

Eh.....

  1. Lol Sometimes, things go right and sometimes they don't. Too bad you feel this way about this one. I find it very interesting and I see that you put a LOT of work into it. You are right, too much work to not complete. You are #200 in the challenge and I am 201. First one on the second page.

  2. This card is sweet Donna! I love the colors you used and the softness that the vellum gives. I've loved how you've been using these vintage trees lately. I have this set and seem to struggle with it. You're inspiring me to bring it out and give it some love. Great card!

  3. How lovely, Donna, to use the softness of vellum in this way - creating a pretty, dramatic background, peeking through the lovely vellum, and then your gorgeously sparkle-full snowflake layering! Darling little trees, too, with such great detail! It's a beautiful card! xo

  4. Well, this card is interesting....lol. No, I'm just messin' with ya, it's very cute. I love those bottle brush trees, have not seen that stamp. And the medallion in the middle is so pretty. Genius to use the vellum too. While this card is different, ALL your cards are amazing. This one is no exception!!

  7. I like it with it's unique style! I really like those little trees and the great background you made for the basis for the whole layout. And, that center snowflake is gorgeous in my opinion. Adding the vellum was a great idea as well. As always, you did a fantastic job and I can tell you put lots of time and effort into this deisgn.

  8. At first I thought you stenciled the background until I read that it was all frames. I love the little trees that for a wreath around the pretty snowflake. Personally I like it, but I know how you feel... been there done that.
