I just have to say I LOVE October! I think it's one of the best months of the year......and I am not even a Halloween fanatic lol
This card will be entered into the Challenges at Stamp TV, World Card Making Day 1--Carved Wood Technique, Simon Says Monday, Powder Power, Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes,Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Red, Orange, Yellow and/or Brown, Stamping Sensations, Autumn, Penny Black, Autumn and Cheery Lynn, Anything Goes!
You MUST watch this fabulous VIDEO from Gina all about the Wood Carving Technique!!!
Here's what I came up with!
I used the Gina K Designs stamp sets, Fanciful Fall and Heartfelt. Images colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut. Pumpkins adhered to a Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die cut, sponged with Wild Honey ink. My Carved Wood background was created by scoring every 1/2" on a piece of White Pure Luxury card stock that measured 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches. Then using Distress Inks in Weathered Wood and Wild Honey I swiped my inks on. I love the orange and blue hues this left me with, so I used those colors in my card base and layering pieces. I then ran my 'wood grain' panel through my Big Shot using a Sizzix Paisley Embossing Folder. For the last step I took a Color Box Frost White ink pad and swiped it over my Paisley imprint......WOW! That's when all the magic happens!!!
I added 3 leaf die cuts using the Cheery Lynn Fall Leaves 8, there are actually 8 different leaf dies in this set, they are so beautiful and have so much texture on each cut! My sentiment was heated using Copper Embossing Powder, on a Vellum hand cut strip. I also coated my pumpkins in Clear Embossing Powder to add a bit of shine (this was done before I knew I would be adding a Vellum sentiment strip over them). Thin Jute Twine and Adhesive Rhinestones for accents.
The look and feel of this textured background is really AHmazing.....I have seen a few other projects and every one of them are gorgeous! I think it's just one of those techniques that just creates beauty!
Thanks for falling in......
Oh and if you have noticed that my Blog List (perhaps with your Blog Link) has gone missing, you are correct.....I 'magically' got some back in place and will find the rest of you. So if you noticed I haven't been commenting on your works of art, that is why.....I just check my list daily and head on over. I hope to have this rectified soon. Thanks for your patience!
Enjoy~~
