The other day I took my Mom out for a Root Beer Float and then decided to try and make one.....on a card!
This card will be entered into the Challenges at Curtain Call, Mason Jar and at Stamp TV, Count Your Layers and MFT Sketch.
I used the Gina K Designs stamp sets, Buds And Vases and Sweet Strawberries. MFT Blueprints #12 for flower and sentiment banner, Bracket Edge Duo on inside. Spellbinders Labels 3 die set.
I've counted 17 layers. Spellbinders die cuts were cut first out of a very thick card stock and layered with brown card stock and Designer Paper. The mason jar stamp was also stamped on to the same thick card stock and then a piece of Vellum. Both colored using a brown Copic Marker and fussy cut out. Designer Paper by My Mind's Eye, Lost & Found, Blush.
Glitter added to the flower center and the foam on top. A Straw, Ribbon, and Enamel Brads for accents. I also added some drops of Glossy Accents to mimic condensation.
Slurp!
Thanks for coming by.
Enjoy~~
I wish I had one of these right now......yummy! Isn't it fun the way things inspire us?
ReplyDeleteI have not been on Facebook this afternoon, too busy working on birthday cupcake picks for my grand daughter Eliza's 9th tomorrow. I was just wondering if you were taking Mom out for breakfast or lunch lately. I have not seen pictures. This card looks so good, Sharyn has the right idea. Wish I had one too.
ReplyDeleteOh let's see pics of them! No outings of late, work is still crazy busy....oh and there's that little matter of a WEDDING getting closer! ;)
DeleteWhat a yummy card. That is so cool.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous sweet pea looks just like the real thing! Come on over and will have one of these together! lol Cheers! Have a Blessed day!
ReplyDeleteOh, yum!!! How did you do the foam? Love all your layers and how you even did the "sweat" on the jar. You are so over-the-top creative with everything you do!!! Can I borrow your brain for awhile? I LOVE this card, it's a winner!!!
ReplyDeleteI just cut out some white card stock in the shape of a 'cloud' and then covered it in glitter, it's totally flat, but kind of looks 3D here. ;)
DeleteLove this card, You can a simple sketch and make it dynamic. Love your mix of papers and your mason jar. Like Judy I wonder how you got the foam and this card is a winner. I did a beer mug a couple of years ago and I used liquid applique for the foam. I made several of them for my beer drinking nieces and nephews,
ReplyDeleteooooooo YUMMY!! Love how you added a little "condensation".
ReplyDeleteI can almost taste that ice cold root beer float. Adding the glossy accents to the jar makes it look so real. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteOh yum! Very fun, Donna!
