I keep forgetting to mention that I have finally added a Pin It Button to my Blog. So if you see something you would like to save for Inspiration on your Pinterest Board, feel free to do so. Just hover over the image and a Pin It Button should appear in the top left corner. :)
Today's card will be entered into the Challenge at Inspired By Stamping , IBSIC87. You can choose any of 3 challenges or ALL three....I chose the Color Challenge, white, blue, red, and tan.
I am sending this card off to a young man who will be turning 13 on November 27th, Alex LeFevre, he is disabled and here is what his Mom posted on Face Book:
Facebook friends, I have a favor to ask. Alex is turning 13 this year. In years past, he has had lots of friends to a big birthday party....and he loved it. At 13, well, other kids 'grow out' of that sort of thing....and even if we did i...t, the party stuff, while still appropriate for Alex, would not really be fun for his fellow 13 year olds. Alas, I am not trying to be depressing, and he will still have a party BUT, and here is where you could come in... could you send him a card on his birthday? In it, can you put WHERE you are located so we can pin it on a map and get in a little geography at the same time (hehe!) Maybe even a fun fact about your town or state. His birthday is November 27, so there is lots of time! Thank you tons!

Perhaps you would like to bring a smile to this young man's face too! Thanks so much!
And here is Alex's card:
I used the Pirates and Background Basic IV stamp sets from Inspired By Stamping. I made the porthole by placing 2 Spellbinders Classic Circle Dies together. Added 4 Philip head screw brads to make it look real. lol I also added texture using a Wood Grain Embossing Folder. The sentiment portion is popped up on dimensional dots and I added some thin Jute Twine to each end, to 'tie it all together' :)
I will add some information about my beloved Chatham and Cape Cod. Of course I will mention that I am 'living on the elbow' so he can tell where I live when he looks at a map of Massachusetts.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy~~
Great idea Donna! I will send him a card from Holland, hope he enjoys it!
