Water Color Daffodil

Good Morning!

This sweet little card will be entered into the Challenge at Power Poppy, Switch Up Your Shades, to use a different coloring medium than you typically use and at ScrapyLand, Anything Goes!  I typically use Copic Markers so I decided to experiment with a little water coloring.  Eh......

The image is from the Power Poppy Digital Stamp set, Dancing With Daffodils, it is just sooooo Springy, sentiment from their Short Stacks set.

Spellbinders Fancy Ribbon Threader die for sentiment, a bit of ribbon for accent, Sakura Glaze Pen for flower centers and some ink splatters.

I do love this image.  Even with 5 inches of snow on the ground my Daffodils are up about 4 inches....one day it is 50 degrees the next a mini blizzard.  Such a crazy winter we are experiencing here in the North East!  :)

Thanks for coming by.

Enjoy~~

Wishes & Dreams

Hello!

Papertey Ink is celebrating their 9th year!  Their 1st Challenge is all about Color!  This card will also be entered into the Challenge at ScrapyLand, Anything Goes!

I picked this Color Recipe:

I used one of my most favorite sets from PTI, DaydreamerSwiss Dots Embossing Folder for some texture.  MFT Dotted Scallop Border die and a bit of Brown and White Gingham Ribbon.

I added many stamped dots in Brown ink to mimic the dotted scalloped border.  That simple little stamp is used quite often in my house!

Thanks so much for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Masculine Valentine

Good Morning!  What a pretty day, snow and all!

This card will be entered into the following Challenges; Dies R Us, Love, Simon Says Wednesday, Have A Heart, and Mod Squad, Hearts and/or Flowers.

The stamped heart is by PTI, Love & Marriage and was die cut using Spellbinders Hearts.  I started by creating a wood grain background, by scoring my card stock every 1/2" and then swiping with several inks, Antique Linen, Timber Brown, and Frost White.  MFT Mini Pennants and Penny Black Heart Strings dies also used.

Designer Papers by Theresa Collins, Hello My Name Is.  Valentines don't have to be all frilly!

Have a wonderful day.

Enjoy~~

Happy Anniversary Poppy

Hello!

I made this card yesterday, not sure if it's Artsy or just rhymes with Artsy.....  ;)

I will enter it into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, A Ray Of Sunshine.  It is bright AND sunny!

I used my new stamp and die set from Altenew, Painted Poppy.  I LOVE this set and am experimenting with it.  I stamped the Poppy in Dove Grey and Tuxedo Black inks on to water color paper.  Sentiment stamped in Tuxedo Black ink.  Then using a water brush and some Daffodil Delight ink I colored the entire background.

Using the die I cut out the Poppy and one leaf.  Stamped images.  Adhered to the card base.  Yellow and white Gingham Ribbon for accent.  I find I love just tying the ribbons in a knot and not a bow, I can not remember the last time I made a bow.

Eh...It looked so much better in my head.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you're not all tied up in knots!

Enjoy~~

Special Delivery

Good Day!  Yesterday it was in the 50's and today we have about 5 inches of snow....so far.  And it's 'snowball' snow.....wet and heavy!  Hope we keep power through the day and night!  But, if I had to I probably could craft by candle light!

Today's card will be entered into the following Challenges:

MFT, Sketch
MFT Color
Dies R Us, Love
Simon Says Wednesday, Have A Heart
Mod Squad, Hearts and/or Flowers
Double D, Pretty Pink Hearts
ScrapyLand, Anything Goes!

I used the MFT stamp set, Pure Innocence, Will You Be Mine?  MFT dies, Blueprints #12 and Party Banner.  Images colored with Copic Markers.  Baker's Twine and Wink Of Stella Clear Pen for accents.

I'm in a coloring funk, kind of lost the coloring MoJo, so am trying to work through it. Plus I had a nice splotch of red ink below her feet, but my name kind of covers that up.

Hope you're having a special day wherever you are!

Enjoy~~

Birthday Wishes For Garrett

Hello!

My dear friend Barbara Campbell made a fantastic masculine card the other day for a sweet young man who will be turning 16 on February 29th, a Leap Year baby!  His name is Garrett and you can read about his story here:  Cards For Garrett.

This is the card I will be mailing out to wish Garrett a VERY Happy Birthday!  I am entering this card in the Challenge at ScrapyLand, Anything Goes!

If you would like to send some Happy Mail, here is Garrett's address:

Garrett Brown
61 West Vineyard Rd
Hayesville, NC 28904

I used several stamp sets from Gina K Designs; All Occasion Tags, Poster Board Sentiments, Pretty Patterns 2, and Simple Numbers.  Spellbinders Classic Circle dies, MFT Sun, Moon & Stars and Vertical Frame die sets and a Star paper punch.

I layered a smaller star die on 2 of the larger stars to create that open star look.  Cut out a bunch of different sized stars in different Designer Papers.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder on a few of them to add some texture.  Baker's Twine for accent.

Inside I stamped this inspirational quote and his birthday date.

At last count they had received over 900 birthday cards from across the globe, how fantastic!  I know as card makers we are a generous lot, so if you have one little birthday card hanging around, won't you please send it?  Thank you!

And thanks to one of my most favorite people, Barb, for letting me know about this card drive!

Hope you all have a HAPPY day!

Enjoy~~

With Love.....lots and lots of love!

Good Morning!

Today's card was made for the following Challenges;

Papertrey Ink, Valentine Ombre Stamping
Stamp TV, Make A Splash
Dies R Us, Love
Simon Says Wednesday, Have A Heart
Mod Squad, Hearts and/or Flowers
Double D, Pretty Pink Hearts
ScrapyLand, Anything Goes!

I started with the GKD stamp set, True Love, and this beautiful heart border.  I used inks in Pirouette Pink, Melon Mambo and Rose Red to create my Ombre effect.  Then I splattered the card stock with craft inks in Light Pink, Bright Magenta and Turner Ink to create my Splash Of Color.  The 'with love' die is from Papertrey Ink, the Swoosh set and was cut in Innocent Pink, Bubblegum Pink, Passionate Pink and Cherry Red, creating another Ombre effect, these were also layered onto Black Onyx card stock.  The inside border heart die is by Impression Obsession, Looped Heart.

It looks kind of messy, but it actually makes a sweet little note card, perhaps to top a box of chocolates from The Chatham Candy Manor.

Thanks for stopping by, LOVE it when you do!

Enjoy~~
