Easter Iris

Good Morning!  It's been so long!

Today's card will be entered into the following Challenges; Stamp TV, Spring Fever(to use 3 Spring colors), Simon Says Monday, A Leap Into The Unknown (to use something new, new beginning, new home, new technique etc., WOW! Embossing Powder, Anything Goes! plus Heat Embossing, ScrapyLand, Anything Goes! (plus a die brand they sell), and Simon Says Wednesday, Touchy Feely (to add a form of texture).

I used the Distress Ink Lifting Technique shared here in this VIDEO from Jen McGuire!  It is just fantastic!  The stamps are from Gina K Designs, Stately Flowers 8, just beautiful for a Spring Time card!  Using Versa Mark Ink and White Embossing Powder I stamped the fabulous Iris from this set.  Then I rubbed Fired Brick Distress Ink all over the white card stock and image, getting it into every nook, every cranny.  Then I began to 'paint' water onto the flower.  I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the stem and a bit of Crushed Curry Ink to brighten the center of the Iris a bit.

The inked panel kind of feels like leather.  I added a bit more texture by splattering a little White Craft Paint on it (I masked my Iris first).  The dies I used are from MFT, Die-Namics, Traditional Stitched Tags and Crossed Stitched Rectangles.  Sentiment stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink.  Punching holes in the panel with my Crop-O-Dile I was able to feed my Yellow Gingham Ribbon through, adding the tag, Button and Jute Twine for accents.

You should really try Jen's technique, it gives you a different look each and every time.

Have a happy day.....March Fourth......say it with conviction!  (one of my favorite dates!)

Enjoy~~
