This card will be entered into the Challenges at Power Poppy, Peek A Boo Sketch, Stamping Sensations, Flower Power, ScrapyLand, Anything Goes! and Simon Says Wednesday, Touchy Feely.
I used the Short Stack stamp set from Power Poppy. Images colored with Copic Markers and hi-lighted with a Wink Of Stella Clear Pen. I stamped the whole image on the right and colored the entire thing....silly...as you can only see a portion of it. Windows were created with Spellbinders Classic Circle dies. Swiss Dots Embossing Folder for texture.
A few Pink Sequins and some pretty Pink Gingham Ribbon for accents. I used a bit of Fun Foam as a backing for my cut out panel, it gives the card a bit more firmness and structure.
This was my first attempt.....yikes!
This may not be much of a peek but more of a I see you! lol Let's just say it warmed me up for the card above. I used the Short Stacks stamp set from Power Poppy. Images colored with Copic Markers. Added a little bit of Stickles to my sweet little bird and Corner Tab Punches for accents.
The 2 larger 'windows' were die cut using Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles. The smaller one was hand cut. I'll probably go back and frame the windows to jazz it up a bit.
They really are fun to make, give it a try!
Thanks for coming by!
Enjoy~~
Both are nice but I have to say I like the top one best. You are so creative!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese do look good but I am sure they are harder than they look. I love the soft pink colors and the pretty ribbon. As always, beautiful coloring.

You know that I like the first one, but I would not discount the first attempt at all. What I really like is that you can lift the top and peek at the inside. Good luck, I think this is a winner.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute - and that goes for both cards. I think that parakeet peeking out of the window is darling and you should NOT throw it out. And I LOVE the Swiss dots with the gingham ribbon on the other one. Really cute with the little flowers peeking out of the circle window at the bottom. I like them both!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Donna, these are fantastic aperture cards! I have not attempted to make them yet. I love what you have done, and have pinned your design ideas! Thank you for the inspiration!

These are all gorgeous! I might have to give that idea a try. I can see making great use of negative die cutouts too!
ReplyDeleteThese are both FANTASTIC!!! I really like the top one with the Swiss Dots and gingham ribbon but I also really like your first attempt one too. If you add frames to the windows I hope you'll post it.
ReplyDeleteBoth are lovely. Totally adore the swiss dots and the springy feel to your sketch. Your first attempt is lovely and a warmer feel to it. Fun idea with the squares. Thanks for playing in our Power and Spark challenge this month.
ReplyDeleteOh, Donna, what fun cards, and I love each one! I always love the dotted swiss embossing folder, and your sweet image is beautifully colored! And the short stack is just sweet in the cut-out card! Congrats for being featured in today's Power Poppy post! Hugs!
