What a GREAT day! I hope I actually get some time to make some cards on this OUR beloved Holiday! :)
But for today's post I will share with you a card I made yesterday for the Flourishes #240 Challenge, Paper Piecing.
I used the Dahlias set from Flourishes. Stamped the image on to green and purple card stock and then fussy cut out, man that was a bugger! lol Glued them all to an ivory colored oval, stacked on a purple scalloped oval, cut using Spellbinders dies. Inked the edges in corresponding colors and traced the flower petals in a clear Sakura star pen, which is hard to see. I used DP from DCWV, Latte, and a couple of flourishes (get it?) :) Added 4 purple eyelets (does anyone else use these anymore???) and actually added a green rhinestone to the center. Some gorgeous ribbon, button and Baker's Twine and wha la!
Now you still have time to get your project entered into this Challenge which runs through the 7th!
Good luck!
And of course, I hope you get to get inky today!
ENJOY~~
OMGosh, this is gorgeous! I love the rich colors and that beautiful dp. Thanks so much for joining us for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week, and good luck in the guest designer contest!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors in this card. You did a wonderful job making the flower stand out, even with a busy background. I forgot about eyelets, but the green gemstone is a great addition. http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/blog/simon-says-stamp-holiday-2013-video-hop/

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!!! The colors make it so elegant. Haven't used eyelets for years but now that you gave me the idea for adding gems I just might dig up my old stash

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Donna! Love your dp.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a beautiful stamp? I love how you have used it with the dp. Looks like they were made for each other. I am so partial to that shade of green and purple. In fact I have those colors in my bathroom. We have those dated avocado fixtures and purple just seemed to be the color to use in there. Well done my dear, your card is exquisite!!! And your ribbon is just the perfect final touch.
