Fussy Cutting.....Oy Vay!

Of ALL the stamps sets, WHY would I have chosen THIS one to fussy cut?!?!  Because it's GORGEOUS.....that's why!  lol  But next time I may think a little more about which stamp to choose.

Interesting (and aggravating!) Challenge over at Flourishes, #243, Fussy Cutting Fun.....let's just say THEY added the word FUN, not I.  hahahaha  Oh I'm just kidding!  It was fine.  The more I did actually 'fussy cut' the more I wanted to get the whole image done, but even I know my limitations.  So here is what I came up with.  And yes, I do know I just used this beautiful floral image, but man it is just so GORGEOUS, I couldn't pass it by.

The floral image is from Star of Bethlehem and the sentiment is from Anemones, both sets available from Flourishes.  Another Sympathy card, yet lighter than yesterday's.   I got almost the entire image fussy cut out, then I re-read the rules, apparently I could have gone with a 'cut file'  hahaha oh well, live and learn!  I am pleased that I got it almost completely cut out though.  Thank goodness for Cutterbee Scissors, what did we ever do before they were around?

So a few layered panels of ivory and blue over a pretty patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, Stella Rose (a $2 bargain for a 6x6 pack!)  Image colored with several Copic Markers and a few added center dots with a Sakura Glitter Pen, the flowers on the DP also have added dots to the itty bitty flowers.  Some lace and Copic colored pearl adhesives.  The sentiment is punched out with an EK Success 'label' punch twice for layering purposes.  And I think that's all she wrote!

As always, thanks for popping in.

And remember there is plenty of time to check out this Challenge.  And you do not need to use a Flourishes stamp in your project, however; if you do, your name will be entered twice.

Now, goooo, go check it out!

Enjoy~~

  1. Well, you have been a very productive crafty girl and it shows! I bet this card is even better in person. Love the detail and the colors. But, you do not have a problem in that area. You keep turning out beautiful cards. I may get some time to get inky today, but not holding my breath.

I knew about the thing to use a cut file but didn't make one for it yet. I have a pair of embroidered scissors that's what I use to cut my fussy cut images there curvy so they work perfect for an image like that one that is so delicate ,but I didn't mess it up. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the sweet comment!
