Happy Goldfish

Good Morning!

A quick little post for a quick little card.

This will be entered into the Challenges at Stamp TV, Pop It Up!, Simon Says Monday, Go Fish!,  Simon Says Wednesday, It's Hip To Be Square, and Scrapy Land, Use An Image.

I used this sweet little image from Enjoy The Sunshine by Gina K Designs.  Spellbinders Labels 8 dies.  Images colored with Copic Markers.  This card measures 4 1/4 inches squared.

I wanted to keep the 'bubble' theme going so I added texture with a Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and this fun orange card stock complete with bubbles.   Fishy Ribbon form my stash.  Wink Of Stella Clear and White Pens and a bit of Stickles on the scales.  Iridescent Sequins (more bubbles!)

A lone Pop Dot to pop up my jumping Goldfish.  They're kind of happy!

Thanks for swimming by!

Enjoy~~

MFT Cross Stitched Rectangles die for sentiment.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and heart Designer Paper, I thought both would mimic the strawberry seeds, which were hi-lighted using a Black Sakura Glaze Pen.  Red and White Gingham Ribbon, Green Button and Doily for accents.  Inks in Real Red and Black Licorice.

May all of your summer days be sweet!

Here is my card:

Strawberry Jar

Good Morning!

Another birthday card to share with you today!

I used 2 stamps sets from Gina K Designs, Enjoy The Sunshine and Sweet Strawberries.  Believe it or not the strawberries are from Enjoy The Sunshine lol.  Using a Papertrey Ink Quart Jar die cut I stamped and colored my strawberries on it.  Then my Gal Pal, Nancy Leppek, shared this Sandy Allnock Video on how to make glass look like glass.  Now keep in mind, Sandy is an artist and I am not....AND this was my very first experience with this technique.

Designer Papers by Nicole, Oh Blooming.  Spellbinders Classic Circles die cut, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  Sheer White Ribbon, Stampin' Up Twines, Enamel Dots, and Vellum.  White Craft Paint and Wink Of Stella Clear Pen.

It kind of looks like glass.....if you back up about 14 feet and squint!  Sandy, of course, made it all look super easy.....but isn't that what Artists do?

This card will be entered into the following Challenges;

Stamp TV, Sketch
Simon Says Wednesday, Happy Birthday
Simon Says, Work It Wednesday
Stamping Sensations, One For The Girls
Penny Black, Birthdays
ScrapyLand, Anything Goes!

Thanks for coming by, hope your day is sweet!

Enjoy~~

Fancy Flap Fold Card

I think that is the name of this fold.  I found this on Pinterest of course and knew I wanted to give it a try, perfect to enter into Barbara Campbell's Challenge that she is hosting over at Stamp TV, Count Your Layers.  I will also be entering this into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, Citrus With A Twist.

I used the Gina K Designs stamp sets, Autumn Beauty and Enjoy The Sunshine.....perfect titles as there is no nicer place than to be on Cape Cod once the Fall arrives....truly!!!  I've tried to count the layers.....I counted 16.....BUT I'll let you try and count them.  :)

Isn't this pretty cool how it opens up?  I quite love the entire look!  Image colored with Copic Markers.

Plenty of room to write a lovely little note to the recipient, which happens to be my dear Aunt Maurine.

Here are all the ingredients:

Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

MFT Blueprints 12 And Bracket Edge Duo Dies

Calm Seas & Smooth Sailing

Good Saturday Morning!  Hope this finds you all well.

My card will be entered into the Challenge at Mod Squad Blog, Encouragement.

I made the background by using the 'watercolor paper and smooshing' technique, I believe that is the technical term.  It's when you place inks on your acrylic block, mist with water, and then smoosh it on to watercolor paper.  When I did this it looked like a stormy sea scene to me, so I went with it.  The image is by Inspired By Stamping, Pirates. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs, Enjoy The Sunshine, a great match!  Spellbinders Classic and Scallop Circle dies.  Holes were made with my Crop-A-Dile, Ribbon Tabs, and Enamel Dots for accents.

A fun masculine card.

Thanks so much for popping in, I am glad you did!

Enjoy~~

Calm Seas & Smooth Sailing

Good Morning!

Today is the Hubby's Birthday!  His 'cake' will be picked up from Marion's Pie Shop it's a Lemon Meringue Pie, his favorite.....not a fan myself, but it will make him happy!

Today's card will be entered in the Challenges at Mod Squad, Tic-Tac-Toe and the bonus one at  Stamp TV, April Foolery, You Need Two Shape(s) Up!

Mod Squad Tic-Tac-Toe

Top To Bottom Diagonal; Sponging, Die, Rhinestones/Pearls (I assume brads are in this group)

I used the Gina K Designs stamp set, Enjoy The Sunshine, a handy Kit to have.  Lots of wonderful images and great sentiments.  My 2 shapes are the rectangles, 2 for the sentiment and a nice wood grain background I created using my Scor Pal and different colored inks.  The card base may even be counted as a rectangle too.  Using Spellbinders Classic Circle dies I created the life saver and then wrapped it with thin Jute Twine and popped it up on 3D dots over my sailboat image which was colored with Copic Markers.  Not Quite Navy Ink, Stickles on the water, some burlap and little brads for accents.

He truly is my anchor and my rock!

I haven't decided if I will use this for his birthday card or not.....hmmmm

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Bold And Beautiful!

Hello, this is crazy, post number 3 already!  Yowza.....and more to come!  Yay!

My card today will be entered into the Poppy Sketch Blog Sketch # 10 With a Pop Of Pattern, Stars and Stamp TV Bold And Beautiful.

Here's the Sketch:

I totally FLIPPED the Sketch......you know, just to be different!

These are definitely not the Designer Papers that I typically use, but when you need Bold AND Beautiful you have to look deep into your stash!  :)   The yellow lattice DP does have little stars on it so I knew I wanted to use it behind my sentiment and the 3 little banners.  I also added 3 little punched out stars just to make sure you knew they were there!   A strip of ribbon and little tab and some adhesive rhinestones finish this card off.  It's quite bright and should bring a smile to whomever receives it.

Sentiment is from Enjoy The Sunshine stamp set, by Gina K Designs

Hope you have a fantastic day!

Enjoy~~

Another Try At Mixed Media

And I thought Masculine cards were difficult to make!  Geesh, this Mixed Media is a real bugger.  I think I am going to look around for some classes this winter for Mixed Media Projects, it can only help.....right?

This creation is for the Mixed Media Color Challenge #6, to use light pink, bright pink, and gray.

Here is what I came up with......if you squint it may look better.  lol

This is a square card that measures 5" x 5".  The sentiment and anchor stamps are from  Gina K Designs, Enjoy The Sunshine, the anchor was cut using the Classic Circles Nestability.  The Compass Rose is a mask from Tim Holtz, using the direct to paper technique. Added some 'banners' one embellished using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, the other a type of tissue paper, both stapled on to the card stock base.  Added some paint in grey and the 2 shades of pink and also white as a neutral.  I paper pierced a design to show movement, perhaps a cool ocean breeze blowing by.  And a ribbon punch threaded with jute twine.  Last but not least, a large white eyelet in the bottom right corner, painted in a pale pink.

I will NOT give up on this technique, but I would like to be able to create something lighter something prettier.......back to the drawing board......and that's okay too!

Enjoy your day, getting close to the long weekend and the Official End Of Summer!  Love it!
