Double D, Butterflies

Good Morning!

A brand new Challenge is up and running over at the Double D Challenge Blog.

Check out this Butterfly Inspiration:

I found this cool Tea Light card technique online.  It was FUN!!!
You can find the video right HERE.

This all starts with an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock
scored at 2 3/4, 5 1/2 and 8 1/4 on the 11 inch side
rotate and score at 4 1/4.

This will be entered into the following Challenges:

Scor Pal, Pretty In Pink
All Sorts, Use At Least 2 Dies
Crop Stop , Party #40

Unfortunately it was hard to capture the glimmer of light in a photo, but here we go!

Now the front isn't that exciting to look at....but wait for it!

Dies; Memory Box Butterfly Exhibit.
Spellbinders Labels 4.
MFT Notched Border.
Chipboard Heart.
Button.
Baker's Twine.
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
Designer Papers by Craft Smith, Tea Party.

There are 4 inside panels to decorate.  I cut the 2 middle panels out using Spellbinders Classic Ovals dies.  Then I covered the openings with Vellum.  On the inside of that I adhered 2 different die cuts; Wildflower Corner and Butterfly Exhibit both by Memory Box.  These are the windows that the tea light will shimmer through.

Dies R Us Butterfly #2 set.
MFT; Stitched Traditional Tags, Open Bracket Border and Fancy Flourish (cropped).
Rhinestones.

Altenew Wild Hibiscus stamp set.
Bermuda Bay ink.
Gingham Ribbon.

(blurry) Lighted Butterfly Window.

Fully opened, and it folds flat and fits nicely into an A2 envie.

Battery Operated Tea Lights from the Dollar Store make these very economical to make.

Please come on over to the Double D Blog and join in all of the FUN!
You'll be glad you did as there is always a pretty prize up for grabs!
Here is the FAB prize for this Challenge:

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy~~

  14. Better late that not at all. This is a busy summer with the grands. Ok, On to this fabulous designed card. So different and I love it. Great way to use butterflies and a light, so that they can seem magical. Why not have a card that can be displayed for all to see.
