Just A Note

Good Morning!

Donna Phelan back again on the Tutti Designs Inspiration Blog.

Today I m sharing an elegant Golden Harp card with you all.

The Tutti Designs Store has so many wonderful dies for all of your card making needs!  This month it's all about Musical Instruments, check out the June Release!

I used this FUN little die from Tutti Designs.  Again, so much detail!

I knew immediately that this Harp had to be Gold Foiled, no ifs, ands, or buts about it!
Zing went my harp strings....or something like that!  :)

I first die cut the Harp from Chipboard and then Toner Paper, which I proceeded to run through my Mini Minc Machine with Gold Foil.  I then layered the 2 together to make a lovely chipboard piece.  I want my die cuts to come to life with a bit of depth and dimension.  If you notice when cutting dies from card stock or Designer Paper (alone) the cuts tend to lay there and look flat.  I find by adding a layer or 2 makes it really POP and gives it a life all of its own!

I added lots of Gold Foil accents.  My Designer Paper was foiled as were the layers between.  I even Heat Embossed my sentiment in Gold Powder tying it all together.  Gina K Designs, Just A Note stamp set.  Raven Black ink.

Everyday you will find new and creative ideas right here, on the Tutti Designs Blog!

  5. This is just so stunning. I love how you have made that harp pop with all that dimension. Gorgeous in the gold, and the polka dot background gives this a little whimsy too. Great design, such a wonderful use of that die as the focal.

  6. Zing went the strings of my heart when I saw this card. You have taken music cards to a whole new level. I love the gold foil on the harp and how you kept the rest of the card simple and let the harp be the star.

  12. Amazing work, Donna! Love the die and had no idea the Minc could accept chipboard. I saw this on FB and had to hop over here to check it out. Love the simplicity of your card front that lets the harp really stand out and shine ♥

    1. Only the top piece of the harp is foiled. I layered several cuts prior to that top layer. Sorry for any confusion! (I also messaged you on FB) xo~
