Sending You Sunshine

Good Afternoon!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Papertrey Ink, Gradient Water Color Die Cuts and Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Sunshine.

I 'painted' some water color paper using my regular inks and water brush.  I don't have any water color markers so this works just as well for me.  Using the Papertrey Ink Cover Plate Die,  Hexagon, I die cut my water color paper  and created my background!  I added adhesive to all of the hexagons on the back side of the cut and then placed it all on the front of my A2 size card.  Then I removed the frame.  Easy Peasey!  I do love the look of this, it reminds me of texture paste.....without having to open the bottle.  I have used that stuff once since I bought it months ago.  Sigh.

Added a strip of Vellum and a sentiment from Simple Sunflowers and then the sweet little bee stamp and die sets from Flower Favorites, all from PTI.

So flat.....easy mailing.....gotta love that!

Thanks so much for buzzing by!

Enjoy~~

  1. I was just over at Judy's place and now I see that great minds do think alike. Lol
You are so clever to use what ever you have and make it work. This turned out great. You and Judy have tempted me to give it a try. Nice touch to use the vellum so that you can still see the design.

  6. Oh, great minds, indeed. First thing I thought of was my hex cover plate, and I see you did too. It's perfect for this technique. LOVE your colors, and using inks works just as well as watercolors. The vellum is perfect here, and then those ADORABLE bee stamp. Totally AWESOME!!!

  7. Oh, Donna, I LOVE this card, and it really does look like texture paste (and I'm glad I'm not alone in not using mine - hehe!). But truly, I love the gradient colors and the sweet sentiment! It's a gorgeous card and fun too! Hugs!

  8. Oh, this is awesome. I love your colors on the design and those hexagons do remind me of paste (something I have bought and not used either)! I love how the vellum with the sentiment allows the design to show through and how you found a way of adding a similar design inside the card.
