Pink Fish

Good Afternoon!

Today's card is for the Challenge over at the Mod Squad Blog hosted by my dear friend, Karen Hightower!  The Challenge is to use a typical masculine stamp but make it a feminine card.  Here is what I have come up with.

I sponged a piece of white card stock using blue and green inks to create my sea.  I used the fish and seaweed images are from the By The Tide stamp set by Stampin' Up!  The sentiment is from Green Thumb Diva, by Gina K Designs.  I heat embossed the fish, in pink, on the base card stock, then I stamped another one in pink and fussy cut that out, using pop dots to place over the embossed fish, giving it some depth.  I tore pieces of paint chips to make the ocean floor, these particular ones have a great deal of texture, like sand paper.  Adding a bit of blue and orange Baker's Twine and some adhesive pearls, for bubbles and accents.  I also covered the seaweed and fish in a ton of Stickles in corresponding colors.   I am sure I can definitely send this to any gal here on Cape Cod!  ;)

Thanks for stopping by, so good to be in the craft room again.  My daughter treated me to a whole fun-filled weekend in the city for Mother's Day....oh the FUN we had!  I will have to upload some of the fabulous pictures we took.

Hope you all had wonderful Mother's Day....whether you are a daughter, a mother, or both, hope you were able to enjoy the day!

Today is also my Mother's 84th birthday!  Here's a picture of my Mom and my Daughter from last year's "birthday kidnapping".  Oh we gals know how to have some FUN!!!

Enjoy~~

  3. Hope your mom had a super duper birthday. She's a hot ticket and deserves the very best. Love how she's always smiling. Your card is so cute! Who would have thought to make a pink fish? My over-the-top talented BFF, that's who. Love the coral too, very cool. And the pearls for bubbles is GENIUS!!!!
