Many Thanks

Good Afternoon!

Yesterday I got some wonderful Happy Mail and just had to make a thank you card to show how much I appreciated being thought of!

This will be entered into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, Gentlemen.  Impeccable timing!  ;)

I created my wood plank background by scoring lines every 1/2".  Then I swiped ink pads directly on the card stock, several colors, brown, light blue, grey, white and gold until I liked what I saw.  Of course I used MFT's Stitched Traditional Tags (thank goodness they don't wear out!).  The stamp set is By The Tide, from Stampin' Up!  Sentiment is from Gina K Designs, Pleasant Plurals

I sponged distress inks over the tag and then using an eraser from a pencil I made little dots in Tangerine Tango ink, stamping off once.....then I stamped over that with Frosted White ink, and then I splattered some water all over that and dried with my heat tool.  Images colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut out.  I 'painted' with distress inks (which was kind f fun to do) I also added a bit of Stickles to the fish.  A bit of ribbon and twine and a fishing thingamajig added for accents.  And one lone mini enamel brad.

A FUN card to make for a wonderful Gentleman.....my only fear is he looks at this and says THAT fish does not exist LOL (he really might think that--but that's okay!)

Thanks so much for coming by, I enjoy it when you do!

  3. You can never go wrong with a tag card. Your fish looks real and the background is right on. Love the background on the tag too. So many colors, and I have seen you use the stamp many times, and always different and gorgeous.

  4. I feel like jumping in and going for a swim with him. This is such a beautiful tranquil scene. You know I am a big fan of that background and the tag is perfect on it. All the work you did on the background for the fish really works and was worth the time and effort. Love the eraser dots. I must remember that. I did not know you knew my husband because that is exactly what he would say.
