Manly Birthday Wishes

Back Again!  (not sure why but my center alignment button is no longer working...weird!)

This has got to be the manliest manly man card I have ever made!

I am entering it in the following Challenges:

Simon Says Monday, Layer It.

Simon Says Wednesday, Happy Birthday.

I started with a Steam Punk Embossing Folder by Darice for my background.
Then I added paints and inks in golds and browns and
black embossing powder to give it a metallic and aged look.
I found some Metal Sheets in my stash and added
the same texture to it with the Embossing Folder.
Adding the paints, inks and embossing powder to that,
trimming it into 3 smaller panels.
In between I embossed a piece of Vellum for more layering.
The 3 panels were popped up on Foam Tape.

I added Tim Holtz metal gears and brads as accents,
also inked and heat embossed with some powders.

Avery Elle Numbered Birthday Balloon dies,
treated in the same manner as the metal accents.

Heavy Metal!

Gina K Designs Massive Messages stamp set.
Gold Embossing Powder.
Vellum.

Has some dimension and heft to it!
This, was of course, made for my Hubby Tom who celebrated his birthday on the 3rd!
He is the manliest manly man I know and love!
Plus he just took me for our Vaccines this morning!

Thanks for stopping in!

Enjoy~~

  1. Let me be the first to congratulate you on the very masculine card. I can see the zeal that you used in putting on the paints and inks on this Steam Punk embossing folder. It is first class and it's a fab card for your hubby Tom.

  2. Gears and rust and metal, yep! That's definitely a manly card. I'm sure Tom loved it. Great job making such a masculine piece of art Donna! Happy belated to your sweetie!

  3. Wow, Donna! I think you're "contractor" hubby would love this card - completely masculine, steam-punk-y, warm, earthy colors, and lots of textures. I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS BEAUTY! The triad of panels looks amazing. As for that dang center button - it does that to me as well. Sometimes it shows centered, but the paragraph is not. But when the post is published, everything is centered! Sometimes I hit the right justified option, save, and then do the center button, and all is well. Sometimes I quit the app altogether, go back in, and then the centering feature works again. In this case, your centered feature worked perfectly to our eyes. Wishing you a great week-end, Miss Donna! Thanks for the inspiration today! love, de

  4. That is so very cool, I love how you used the embossing folder on the background and strips. Love the accenting with the gold embossing powder, the balloon numbers are neat with it too, great dimension and texture.
