Through The Leaves

Another chilly day.....surprise, surprise. I think I think that come tomorrow, a new day, a new month, the month of Spring,  I am going to magically open all my doors and windows and it will be warm.....I fear I will be in for the shock of my life upon wakening.  That's okay, just let me believe this for a few more hours!  ;)

Another lovely Spring time card, which will be entered in the MIUM Stamp TV, Holey Card Stock and the Mod Squad Blog, Thinking Spring 2.0.  Still plenty of time to play in either, or both Challenges!  Check em' out!

I used the Signs Of Spring stamp set available at Gina K Designs.  Using the leaf stamp I stamped all over the white card stock using Distress Inks, Antique Linen, Peeled Paint, and Wild Honey.  Then I cut that with the Labels 4, Spellbinders dies, making a frame out of the last two, for the inside.  The inside portion I sponged and also stamped with the leaf and the butterfly image.  This is NOT exactly the look I was going for, BUT as chance has it, I kind of like the look.    Base card stock is Pure Luxury Asparagus.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Pink Iris

Good Morning!  Day 2 of coloring flowers....winter GO AWAY!  :)

Today's card is for the MIUM Challenge at Stamp TV, hosted this week by one of my Co-Guest Designer's Leslie, Holey Card Stock.  I will also be entering this in the Mod Squad Challenge, Spring 2.0, the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, Anything Goes With Pearls and I used the awesome sketch from My Favorite Things.

I am loving this Iris image from the new set, Stately Flowers 8, available from Gina K Designs.  I am just going to color it every color under the sun.  I can't wait til mine pop up in the gardens, I have the beautiful blue ones, and some amazing purple ones, and then a few double bearded yellow ones.  Oh Mother Nature, you are so good to me!  Thank you!

Colored with Copic Markers, I stamped the image on the FREE cut file available from Stamp TV, check the Freebies Tab.  Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Circles used, I made a frame for the circle cut out.  Pure Luxury Card Stock, Bubble Gum and American Crafts, Dots & Stripes Designer Paper used.  Butterfly Punch, Button and Baker's Twine, and 3 little pearls.

Again thank you so much for stopping by, it is greatly appreciated!

Can't Wait To Turn The Calendar Page

Good Afternoon!   I won't even tell you that we just had a total white out, another snow squall.....blah. For the past few days I have just been coloring flowers, it almost helps!

The card was inspired by Theresa Momber's card Yellow Crocus.   She has some amazing tutorials for this gorgeous stamp set available at Gina K Designs, Signs Of Spring.

Sentiment is from the Stately Flowers 8 set also available from Gina K Designs.  Colored with Copic Markers and shaded with Staz On inks, Mustard and Pumpkin, the sentiment is stamped in Stampin' Up ink, Garden Green.  Spellbinders dies, Ornate Squares and Classic Ovals.  Pearls also colored with Copic Markers.  Stickles.

I love it, it is the promise of Spring.  Can not wait to turn the calendar page on Saturday!!!

This card will be entered into the following Challenges:

CMC #87, Anything Goes
Mod Squad Blog, Spring 2.0
Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes With Pearls

Thanks for coming by....so nice to see you again.

Going For The Gold

Good Afternoon!  I made this card the other day and did not have time to upload before leaving town.  This will be entered into the Mod Squad Blog Challenge, Go For The Gold.....such a timely title!

I found this awesome Designer Paper in my stash, and for the life of me I can not find the name of it.  It is by Christine Adolph and it is gorgeous!    I have incorporated the beautiful bird image from the paper to be part of my card, front and center!  I used the stamp set, Stamper's Favorites, available from Gina K Designs.  Using the feather image cut files, FREE from Stamp TV, (check the Freebies Tab) I cut 2 images using my Cameo.  Stamping in Versa mark and Gold Embossing Powder, I heat set the images.  I can see every little detail in that stamp, just beautiful!  So clean, so clear!  Layered 2 together topped with some loopy twine and a red button topped with a smaller black button.  I also gold embossed the sentiment.  I then added 4 corner eyelets and 2 Copic colored adhesive pearls and a criss cross of ribbon.  The card just completed itself, love when that happens!

It's another beautiful day here, we have had temps in the high 40's and into the 50's.....feels like Spring is here, but I fear that feeling is a bit premature.  What do they say about March???  In like a Lion out like a Lamb?  Eek!

Thanks for stopping by, always appreciated!

And if you have some free time, you still have a few hours to take part in the MIUM Challenge, I am hosting over at Stamp TV.  Deadline is Sunday 23rd, 8 pm CST.  Hope you stop by.

ENJOY~~

What A Catch!

That is  how we feel about our Son-In-Law to be!!!  Tim's birthday is next month so I thought I would get a head start on creating his card.  I don't think the man has ever been fishing a day in his life, so it will be  interesting to see his reaction to it.  I will go on record with, I LOVE IT!!!  :)

This will be entered into the Flourishes Challenge # 259, A Lotta Polka Dots

I used the ever so manly stamp set, What A Catch, available from Flourishes.  Even with orange and blue I still think it looks masculine enough.  Colored with Copic Markers, and the addition of LOTS of Stickles, this really shines and sparkles in real life.  The Polka Dot Designer Papers are from My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose, Mabel Papers.  Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Oval dies, orange Baker's Twine, some Burlap-ish fabric treatment and 4 brads to complete the card.

Maybe I will get Tim a fishing rod for his birthday, as they just bought a house and it is on a Pond.  Hmmmm, may be a great idea!

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you doing so.

Good Wednesday Morning!  Today is the final day of Inspiration Hop for the February Release.

And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.

Today we have one final stamp set to show you, Just A Note, illustrated by Rupa Shevde.

I loved all of the sets that have been Released so far, and this one is NO exception, love, love, LOVE it!  Even the Hubby was quite surprised with today's card!  lol

I think this was one of my favorite cards to create, I hope you enjoy it as well.  Pure Luxury card stock, Wine With Everything (except with Release Parties!!!), Black Onyx and White.  Designer Paper is from My Mind's Eye, Lost & Found, Blush.  Stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Love the musical border stamp, the musical note flourish and that fabulous sentiment.  And just when you think those are enough stamps, there are 4 musical instruments, just a note envelope, 3 more sentiments and a wonderful G Clef circle design.  This is a set I can see me pulling out time and time again!  Just a wonderful set you could use for ANY occasion!

I made a chipboard heart using the heart shaped Spellbinders die, cutting several layers and gluing together, topped with pink glittery paper and several pink and white adhesive pearls.  I love how the musical note flourish IS playing the song of my heart.  I added many mini adhesive pearls colored in black and pink, and some pink eyelets. Also grabbed a large paperclip from my stash and tied a bit of black and white gingham ribbon to the top, for another fun accent.

Once again I would like to thank Gina and her marvelous Crew and my Guest Designer mates for a wonderful February!  This has been a lot of fun and I enjoyed every moment of it.  THANK YOU!!!

Gina K Designs Design Team Inspiration Blog Hop For February 2014 Day 2

Happy Tuesday!

The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! Gina, along with the Cast and Crew and Guest Designers, will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Today we also have 2 beautiful stamp sets to show you.  First up is Theresa's Signs Of Spring.  If you haven't already ordered, you may want to do so RIGHT NOW!

I created another small note card, measures 4" x 4" with a matching envelope (as does my second one).  All of a sudden I love making envelopes.

I double stamped the leaves in Antique Linen and Peeled Paint Distress Inks, creating a shadow effect by not lining them up 100%.  Pure Luxury card stock, Asparagus, Sandy Beach, and White.  Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Circle dies, layered.  Butterfly stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers, with a touch of a Sakura Metallic pen.  GKD Ribbon.  Adhesive Rhinestones.  Envelope was made using SEI Designer paper, Dill Blossom, such a lovely accent to the stamped leaves.

Next up we have Becky's newest set, Folk Filigree.  I have tried counting all of the stamps in this set.....I think there are 43....FORTY THREE.  Can you just imagine the creating possibilities with that many stamps?  I am no math genius so I won't even begin to calculate that answer!

Another note card......you guessed it.....with a matching envelope!  :)

Pure Luxury card stock in, Asparagus, Cherry Red, Sweet Corn, and White.  I made a little background stamped banner.  Inks are in  Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Garden Green and More Mustard.  I could have stamped for days using these fun little stamps, really the possibilities ARE endless!  Spellbinders Scalloped and Classic Circle dies.  A little Baker's Twine and some Adhesive Rhinestones complete the look.

Gina K Designs Design Team Inspiration Hop February 2014 Day 1

Good Monday Morning!!!

To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.

I am so happy and proud and THRILLED to be a Guest Designer for the month of February.  It's quite an honor for me!  Thank you so much, Gina and Crew!  (special thanks to Lee and Cat for holding my hand and walking me through this!  lol)

Today we are showcasing 2 of the brand new stamp sets, the first one is Stately Flowers 8 from Melanie.  If you have been dealing with the winter weather of February, like we have here in New England, then you will be ready to start creating some beautiful floral cards.  Spring can not get here quick enough for me, but with this set you can begin to enjoy what Mother Nature will surely bring....soon...oh please make it soon!

I have created a little birthday card measuring 4.5" x 4.5" with a matching envelope.

For this card I chose the beautiful Yellow Jessamine image, so much FUN to color!   This is the state flower for South Carolina (somewhere I wish I was!).  Pure Luxury card stock in White, Grass Green, and Lemon Drop.  Designer Paper found in my stash.  Stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Copic Markers.  Spellbinders Scalloped & Classic Oval dies.   EK Success Tag Punch, layered.   Sakura White Glaze pen for flower centers.  Adhesive Rhinestones.

Next up we have Beth's newest set, Lots Of Washi.   This set is going to change your life....truly!  So many things to do with it.  Create simple strips of color, full backgrounds, or even stamp on white tissue paper for the real Washi Tape effect!

My card features 3 out of the 5 patterns included in this set.  I went with a bright and cheery all occasion card.

I used embossing folders on glitter papers, to match the patterns created by stamping in Stazon Inks, Mustard, Pumpkin, and Teal Blue.  Adding buttons and Baker's Twine in matching colors.  This card just makes me happy, even after all that shoveling I just did!

Birthday For Colin

Good Morning!  Not sure if any of you have read a post on Face Book about this sweet little boy, Colin, who turns 11 on March 9th.

This is what his Mom has said about creating the Page, Happy Birthday Colin:

I am Colin's mom, I created this page for my amazing, wonderful, challenging son who is about to turn 11 on March 9th. Because of Colin's disabilities, social skills are not easy for him, and he often acts out in school, and the other kids don't like him. So when I asked him if he wanted a party for his birthday, he said there wasn't a point because he has no friends. He eats lunch alone in the office everyday because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office. So I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party. Please join me in making my very original son feel special on his day.

As card makers I know you will all want to join in Colin's special day and pop a card in the mail for him.  You could also 'like' his page on Face Book if you have an account.  His parents are trying to keep this all hush hush until the big reveal on his birthday.  They have been posting photos of the many post office trips they are making with tons of envelopes and packages received.  I love how this reinforces my thought that people, in general, are truly good and generous!   I think it will take him a full year to open everything up, how FUN!!!

For those of you without a Face Book Page, here is his address:

Happy Birthday Colin
PO Box 756

Richland, MI 49083-0756

Here is my card, one I will be entering into the Flourishes Challenge, WOOD You Be Mine, to add a wood element to your project.

Fabulous bike image from the set, Bike Ride, sentiment from Dahlias.   Both available from Flourishes.  The wood element is a little banner tag that I colored with a Copic marker and added Stickles too.

I hope you all join in wishing Colin a very special birthday!!!  Thank you!

Loving the tropical feel of this birthday card.  It is for one of our nieces who turns 21, thought she would 'enjoy' it!

What Wood You Make?

Good Saturday Morning!

Oh what a fun day.....a blizzard is coming, a blizzard is coming, a blizzard is coming.....ugh!  It's okay, I've got all my crafty supplies and I am attempting to make my Nana Sylvia's Cinnamon Rolls this afternoon.   None of us ever got her actual recipe as it was always a pinch of this and a pinch of that......what a shame!  But I will try, let's just hope we don't lose power!

Today's card is for the Flourishes WOOD You Be Mine, to add some type of wood element to your project, and despite the title it does not have to be a Valentine--as that is so yesterday--literally!  :)  I am also entering this into the Sketch Challenge over at My Favorite Things.

And the Mod Squad Blog Challenge, Think Spring!

The stamped image is from one of my favorites, Dahlias.  The sentiment is from the Cottage Home set.  Both available from Flourishes.  I love coloring these images, especially when I think of all that snow fast approaching!  If I lock myself in my little craft room coloring I should be able to weather the storm.  :)

I added a little wooded flower I picked up at Michael's and colored it with a Copic marker, added some Stickles and a little green button.   This card is going to one of my oldest and bestest friends who also shares my name.   I have known the 'other' Donna for almost 40 years.....egads.....how can that be?  And like all girlfriends, it doesn't matter how long the time passes before we see each other next, we just pick up right where we left off.  I am so thankful to have her in my life.....she has, in part, made me who I am.  Love her to pieces!!!

I'll let you know how we make out today, could be only 10 inches could be 2 feet, way to narrow down that prediction!  HA!

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Think Spring!

Well I guess we are lucky than most today, we have rain, lots and lots of rain......no snow!  So of course my thoughts turn to Spring and why can't it get here faster?  I know, I know, all in good time.  I also know it will be well worth the wait!

The Mod Squad has a wonderful Challenge this week, Think Spring, to feature a flower on your project.  Easy Peasey!  This card will also be entered into the Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday Challenge, How Do You Doodle, to add something hand drawn to your project.

The floral frame is from the Gina K Designs stamp set, Dogwood And Butterfly, the butterfly is from Sent With Love and the sentiment is from the Birds And Blossoms set.  The flowers were colored with Copic Markers.  Spellbinders dies, Classic, Scalloped and Beaded Ovals were used as well as the little heart shaped Ribbon Buckle die.  Many adhesive pearls as well as Buttercup Liquid Pearls were added.  Sakura Glitter Pen.  Ribbon.  DP is from Echo Park, Victoria Gardens.  Pure Luxury card stock, white, lemon drop and jelly bean green, all available from Gina K Designs.

Just a fun card to put together.  I may have to add a small bag of extra pearls when I mail this off to a dear friend who has a birthday in early March, as I have been finding them everywhere.  lol

Have a wonderful day!

And if you're looking for something to do tonight, I hope you'll join me at the February Release Party over at Stamp TV!  Lots of fun, laughter and inspiration.  Wait til you see the brand new stamps, OMGee!  They are FABULOUS!  I will be participating in the Release Party too, as a February Guest Designer, should be FANTASTIC!  And I am bringing the wine!  ;)  Hope to see you there!

Red Hot Glitter Heart

Think the title sums up this card and the 2 Challenges I chose for it!  Flourishes #257, Red & Love and the Mod Squad Valentine Challenge, to use a heart and glitterLove when Challenges align!  :)

The Designer Papers are from My Mind's Eye, Kiss & Tell.  Using the Spellbinders Hearts dies I layered 4 hearts together and then topped it off with a ton of Garnet Glitter by Martha Stewart, her stuff is the glitteriest!  It reminds me of one of those little heart shaped boxes of chocolates.  Mmmmm.  The beautiful rose is from the Flourishes set, Roses Are Red.  I chose the smaller image from this set. The sentiment is from What A Catch.  A scattering of red adhesive pearls and a wee bit of ribbon to complete the look.

One week before Valentine's, cards are made, thankfully, just need to pop them in the mail.

Thanks for popping in.

Drop Shadow Die Cuts

Seems like it's been forever!  :)  Glad to be crafting and posting again!  Today's card is so not my normal layered creation.  It's VERY busy.....but that may even be in a GOOD way.....the jury's still out!  This card is for the Make It Monday #151, Drop Shadow Die Cuts Challenge over at Papertrey Ink.

I used the Lovely Layers stamp and die sets as well as the Ruby Reprise stamp set, available from Papertrey Ink.  The larger flowers were cut with the dies, once in white and stamped in color, and then the bottom layer, the 'shadow' was cut in a deeper corresponding color.  They were layered together just a tad off center, to create the shadow.  Then I stamped leaves and smaller flowers all over the base card stock.  A few Copic colored adhesive pearls added to some of the flower centers and done.  It's quite busy.....BUT I kind of like this wild look.  Totally out of my comfort zone here.

So I guess my advice from this creation would be, try something new....something different, you may just be pleasantly surprised!

Thanks for stopping by, appreciate you doing so.

Have fun and enjoy!

Are You On The CASE?

Today's card is for the new challenge at the Mod Squad Blog, CASE a card, no rules, no restrictions!

I contacted the wildly talented Cindy Lawrence to see if she wouldn't mind me casing her wonderful Grab Life By The Handlebars card.  She agreed, I hope I didn't let her down.

Created By Cindy Lawrence

And now mine:

I followed along as closely as possible.   Cindy had some very unique ribbon and accents, and of course, is a Copic coloring genius!  :)  The stamp set is Bike Ride from Flourishes.  This image reminds me of biking all over Nantucket a few years ago.....good times!

Thanks so much for taking a peek!

Heather's Hydrangeas

I'm baaaaaaack!  Happy Saturday!

My card today is for the fabulous challenge over at Flourishes #256    2014 Pantone Color....PURPLE!

And I thought what better stamp set to use than the beautifully detailed Hydrangeas set?!?  Again, I have to thank the overly generous  Heather Jensen for sending me this lovely set!  I have added you to my Pay It Forward 2014 list. I think I finally came up with my craft idea! ;)

I just have to say, I LOVE this set.....it is so beautiful, so many sizes of gorgeous hydrangeas and sentiments, wait til you see the font on the one I chose for this card!  Fabulous!

The only thing I did for this card really was to color, color, color.  I still have a long way to go in that department, but all in all, I like it!  I added yellow and orange Sakura glitter pens to each flower center, some adhesive rhinestones, and a little purple ribbon and wha la!  Done!

I wish this is what I was looking at out my window, but it's still just a little white out there, although the sun is shining so that's a good start!

Now check out that font, is it not gorgeous?!?  Love the script and built in flourishes.  Simple Pleasures!

I hope you have a purple hydrangea kind of day!  Don't they just make you HAPPY???

This set is available at Flourishes.

Thanks for popping in.

Enjoy~~
