Double D, Silhouettes

Good Morning!

A brand new Challenge is up and running over at the Double D Challenge Blog

Here is your Inspiration Tile:

Use a silhouette as the focus of your project.

Here is my card:

I used Distressed Oxide inks to create my background;
Faded Jeans, Fired Brick and Wilted Violet.
I also added Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold and water drops to it.
Sentiment by Gina K Designs, All About You, stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed using Black Embossing Powder.

My skyline was created by using the
Impression Obsession City Landscape dies.
I layered and added dimension using Fun Foam.
Dies were cut from Black Glitter Paper.

Please come on over to the Double D Blog and join in all of the FUN!

You'll be glad you did as there is always a pretty prize up for grabs!

Beautiful Sunflower

Back again.....and the sun is still shining!  :)

This card will be entered into the following Challenges;

Penny Black, Pretty In Pink.

Another try at that Water Coloring Splatter Technique.

I used the Altenew stamp and die set,; Wild Hibiscus
stamped in Amalgam Black ink.
Inside sentiment (which I forget to take a picture of) says:
Wish You The Most Beautiful Day from the Beautiful Day stamp set.
Front sentiment Heat Embossed in White from the Peony Spray stamp set.

The front flower has been cropped and backed with Foam Dots for dimension.

This last card will be entered into the Challenges at:

Power Poppy, Pop Of Personality.
Simon Says Monday, Fall/Autumn.
Stamping Sensations, Leaves, Trees or Autumn.
Allsorts, Spots Or Stripes.

I used the Power Poppy stamp sets;
Go Wild! and In Praise Of Sunflowers.
Image stamped in Amalgam Black ink and colored with Copic Markers.
I stamped a second flower and fussy cut that out,
layering the 2 together with Foam Dots for dimension.
Front sentiment Heat Embossed in White.
Happy Birthday stamped inside.

I thought the wonky placement of my panel
fit in nicely with the 'pop of personality' theme.
If you know me, you'll understand!  ;)
I scored my background every 1/4" and then swiped my Antique Linen Distress ink directly to it,
until I got the shade I wanted.  Layered on Brick and Brown card stock.  I purposely placed the PTI Designer Paper, Canyon Clay, with the stripes going horizontally for more of a contrast.

A little bit of Orange and White Polka dotted ribbon, folded as a tab.
A bit of layering and dimension.

Happy Fall Y'All!

Enjoy~~

Happy Halloween and Love You

Good Morning!

After 4 days of a Nor' Easter we finally have sunshine!
YAY!!!

This card will be entered into the following Challenges:

Simon Says Monday, Fall/Autumn.
Allsorts, Dots and/or Stripes.

Created my background with Distress Oxide inks,
Heidi Swapp Color Shine White and water drops.
I used the PTI products; Friendship Jar Fillers Fall
Dress Up Dolls Basic and Halloween stamps and die sets.
Images stamped in Amalgam Black ink colored with Copic Markers.

I also added WOS to all of the images.

This next card will be entered into the Challenges at;

Gina K Designs, Repeating Sentiment.
Penny Black, Pretty In Pink.

I used the Gina K Designs stamp sets; Hugs And Wildflowers
and Sweetest Memories--which is a blast from the past....Red Rubber!!!
I stamped all of my flowers in Amalgam Black ink on to water color paper....then...
I just started flicking and splattering the ink all over.
I did a little bit of 'painting' by smooshing the ink onto the images.
I struggle a great deal with water coloring, typically it all turns a murky brown, but I found this VIDEO by Erum, from Altenew.  It's a Splatter Technique.
Erum has a whole coloring series you can find HERE.

Flowers cut out using the coordinating dies.

Using a Spellbinders Standard Circle die, 2 which I layered, I created a ring for my wreath pattern.  All flowers are adhered to it.  Some I added Foam Dots to for dimension.
Background ink splatters.  Inks in;  Bermuda Bay,
Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Wild Wasabi.

I also added Foam Dots to the 'ring' on the back of my wreath.
Iridescent Sequins.

If you REALLY want to learn to Water Color I suggest checking out Lisa Hetrick's Blog!
She is wildly talented and FUN!!!
