Double D, Watercolor

Good Morning!

A brand new Challenge is up and running over at the Double D Challenge Blog

Here is your Inspiration Tile:

Gorgeous Right?

Here is my card:

This is a pretty straight forward card.  Nothing fancy, no frills.
BUT, I do love it.
This Memory Box die cut, Row Of Poppies is one of my most favorite things to water color.  They are just perfect!
I did die cut a 2nd set of poppies in black and offset it on the back
for a little bit of depth and dimension.

Scallop Frame is from PTI, Shakers And Sprinkles.
As you can imagine, this was a super quick card to create!

This card will be entered into the following Challenges;

Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!
Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Spring Flowers.
Memory Box, Clean And Simple.
Dies R Us, Anything Goes!

Please come on over to the Double D Blog and join in all of the FUN!
You'll be glad you did as there is always a pretty prize up for grabs!

Here's the prize for this Challenge:

Bring On The Bling

Good Morning!

I am helping my BFF Barbara Campbell host the Challenge
over at the NEW Mod Squad Challenge Blog, Bring On The Bling!!!

I am being Sponsored by

http://altenew.com/

I used the Wild Hibiscus stamp and matching Die sets and my sentiment is from the Beautiful Day set all from Altenew.  Die cutting out the flowers from water color paper, stamping in Versa Mark ink and heat embossing in Gold.  I then 'water colored' my pretty flower images using inks in Riding Hood Red and Garden Green.  I find this to be the easiest way for me to water color, regular ink pads and a water brush.

Using 2 Cross Stitched Rectangles dies I created my frame.  The inside cut was used as my base panel, which I splattered a bit of my ink on to.  My frame has been backed with Fun Foam to make it sturdy and to add some depth and dimension.  Adhering my pretty flowers to either side and  I then just added a wicked lot of BLING to accent my corners.  A third flower was cut and added to the inside for accent.  Base card stock is Dusty Rose.

Now run right over and check out all of the details and say hello to Barb!

Watercolor Iris

Good Morning!  A little bit gloomy and rainy here.....perfect day for crafting!

Today's card will be entered into the Mod Squad Challenge, Watercolor Stamping, hosted by my dear friend Judy Woodland!  I actually made two cards.

I used the beautiful Iris image from Gina K Designs, Stately Flowers 8.  Such delicate detail.  I first colored my stamp with Watercolor Pencils and then spritzed with water.  Stamped the image onto watercolor paper and then colored the image a bit more with a water brush.  I am still not sure if it looks 'artsy' or messy.....maybe it will grow on me.  :)

I used the same steps in this card, but after it all dried I re-stamped the image using Dove Grey Ink.  I wanted the image more defined and I kind of like this look.

Corner Tab Punches and Ribbons added for accents.  That is all.  :)

Thanks so much for coming by, appreciate you doing so.

Enjoy~~

Daydreamer

Hello Again!

Let me just say I have fallen in LOVE with one of my new stamp sets, from Papertrey Ink, Daydreamer.  It is an older set but I find it utterly delicious!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at PTI, Watercolor Smooshing and Simon Says Monday, B Is For.....

Betsy has a wonderful VIDEO showing exactly how to smoosh, in case you don't know how to.  lol

I used inks in  Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.  Nice and bright colors, love the Spring time feel you get from them.  And smooshed them all on to my acrylic block, and then placed my watercolor paper on it.  The stamp set is Daydreamer, by PTI.  I stamped the flowers directly on to watercolor paper and a second time which I fussy cut out and popped up on 3 dimensional dots.  Some 'randomly' tossed pink sequins for a little accent and that is all.

I really love the artsy feel of the backgrounds, I liked it so much I made 2 of them for this card.  An easy technique, watch the video and give it a try.  Inside I used 2 border dies from MFT, Dotted Scallop and Open Bracket

Last week I received my order from Papertrey Ink, I had won an $80 Gift Certificate from one of their Anniversary Challenges.  Whahoo!  I chipped in $11 of my own and here is what I received....Happy Mail for sure!

Stitched Pinked Edge Label Die, Polka Dot Parade # 9 Die, Simple Sunflower Die, Daydreamer Stamp Set, Hexagon and Chevron Vertical Cover Plate Dies, Christmas Sentiments Mini, Polka Dot Parade Mini, Simple Sunflower Mini, and Happy Hexagons Mini Stamp Sets.  FUN!!!

Thank You Papertrey Ink

Thanks so much for popping in for a closer look!

Enjoy~~

Make It Monday

Good Afternoon!  Just another working Saturday.....boo.....

Today's card is for the Challenge over at PaperTrey Ink # 173, No Outline Watercolor.  Sounds easy, right?  Not for me.....might as well be a CAS Challenge.  lol

Heather Nichols has a wonderful VIDEO and her card comes out beautifully, like a Parisian piece of art left in the rain.  (love that look!).  I may have to watch this video again and again.

I used the PTI stamp sets, Ruby Reprise and Tag-It's #2 for this card.  I also used my new Derwent Watercolor Pencils--these things are truly awesome, just wish I had more time to work with them.  In the Fall I shall.   I stamped the flower image in Antique Linen ink and then colored each flower.  When dry I added Liquid Pearl centers.  Nothing fancy!

I do love the look of Heather's card and the entries as well, so I will have to practice, practice, practice!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy~~
