Thinking Of You

Hello!  Hope you're all having a happy Saturday!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Stamp TV, It's Your Time To Shine, Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes and Simon Says Work It Wednesday, Use Dies.

I have tried to capture the sparkle and shine on this card to no avail!  I used a Sakura Yellow Glitter Pen on the flower centers and a Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen on the leaves.  It sparkles, it shines....in real life!

I used the Fill It With Flowers and All Occasion Tags stamp sets from Gina K Designs.  Images colored with Copic Markers.  Black Licorice ink.

Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco H and Spellbinders Standard Circle dies.  Ribbon Tab and Black Enamel Dot for accents.

I stamped the flower and leaves images twice and layered them on top of each other for some depth and dimension.

I have taken photos from every angle.......sigh.....still no sparkle or shine captured in the photograph.

I swear it is there.

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Flower Note Cards

Good afternoon!  Blog Candy below.....part 3.

A little set of floral note cards to share with you today.  I will enter them into the Challenge at Simon Says Monday, April Showers Bring May Flowers.

I had some 'leftover' impatient flowers I created from some SVG cuts so I thought they would be perfect on a few little note cards.  They measure 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches.

MFT Cross Stitch Rectangles.  I sponged Peeled Paint Distress ink over the left portions of the die cut, then using a water brush I dropped water on it to lift some color off.  Then taking ink in a coordinating color I dropped spots of that all over; Crushed Curry, Perfect Plum and Pink Pirouette.  Sentiments from Gina K Design sets, All Occasion Tags and Botanicals stamped in Black Licorice ink.  Liquid Pearls for flower centers in; Buttercup, Flamingo and Lavender Lace.

Simple little Note Cards.

*********  BIG Announcement!!!  *******

This month begins my 4th year in the Blog-O-Sphere, so let's have some more BLOG CANDY!!!!  Each Sunday over this month I will have a little something for you to win.  Today's crafty goodness is a great 2pack of Embossing Folders by Sizzix, Brick and Woodgrain AND a Gina K Designs Duo stamp set, Wrapped In Love.

Just leave a comment on this post to be eligible to win, that's it.....no hoops to jump through, nothing to count, just leave a comment.  I will announce all of the winners at the end of the month.

Birthday Wishes For Garrett

Hello!

My dear friend Barbara Campbell made a fantastic masculine card the other day for a sweet young man who will be turning 16 on February 29th, a Leap Year baby!  His name is Garrett and you can read about his story here:  Cards For Garrett.

This is the card I will be mailing out to wish Garrett a VERY Happy Birthday!  I am entering this card in the Challenge at ScrapyLand, Anything Goes!

If you would like to send some Happy Mail, here is Garrett's address:

Garrett Brown
61 West Vineyard Rd
Hayesville, NC 28904

I used several stamp sets from Gina K Designs; All Occasion Tags, Poster Board Sentiments, Pretty Patterns 2, and Simple Numbers.  Spellbinders Classic Circle dies, MFT Sun, Moon & Stars and Vertical Frame die sets and a Star paper punch.

I layered a smaller star die on 2 of the larger stars to create that open star look.  Cut out a bunch of different sized stars in different Designer Papers.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder on a few of them to add some texture.  Baker's Twine for accent.

Inside I stamped this inspirational quote and his birthday date.

At last count they had received over 900 birthday cards from across the globe, how fantastic!  I know as card makers we are a generous lot, so if you have one little birthday card hanging around, won't you please send it?  Thank you!

And thanks to one of my most favorite people, Barb, for letting me know about this card drive!

Hope you all have a HAPPY day!

Enjoy~~

Lavender And Lace

Good Afternoon!

Today's card will be entered into the Challenges at Mod Squad, Lavender And Lace, hosted by one of my ever talented BFF's Judy Woodland and Stamp TV, Count Your Layers, hosted by another one of my ever talented BFF's Barbara Campbell.

I started with Lovely Lavender card stock of course and the All Occasion Tags, Dreams, and Lacy Borders stamp sets, all by Gina K Designs.  The tag die is by MFT, Traditional Stitched Tags.

I layered 2 tags together, the bottom one I used White Embossing Powder and a pretty lacy border stamp.  The top has an image and sentiment stamped using inks in Tuxedo Black  and Wisteria Wonder.  I also added a layered butterfly using the EK Success Trio Butterfly Punch, bottom layers in card stock, top in Vellum accented with 3 small Adhesive Rhinestones.  An eyelet and ribbon threaded through the tags.

Check out the fine detail on that lacy border stamp, it looks like real lace!

I have counted 10 layers on this card.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by.

Enjoy~~

CAS 5

I think this may be my last CAS for sometime.....I think!  lol

This will also be entered into the Less Is More Challenge, Foliage.

Using a Spellbinders die that I centered onto the card stock I sponged some green ink directly to the card stock base.  Using Stazon Timber Brown Ink I stamped the leaf image from Tropical Flowers and the sentiment from All Occasion Tags, both from Gina K Designs.

I think these CAS cards will be great for my Mom, but I think I need to get back to my layers and layers and lots of embellishments, aye?  lol

Thanks for popping in!

Enjoy~~

Good Day!  Just a short little post to hi-light some boxes I made for the STV Challenge.  There's still a little time left to play, you should go check it out!

I made these Boxes and Cones with my Mom in mind.  Her "kidnapping" commences this coming Saturday--can't wait!  Hope this gorgeous weather holds, although even a rainy day on Cape Cod is still pretty good!

Decorated with buttons and bling, Baker's twine and Dragon Flies.  I just need to find the right trinket, the prettiest piece of Bling to put in, something beachy, so we all can remember the day!  I was able to cut the cones out with my Cameo--man that little gizmo makes life so much easier.  I also have this program called Sure Cuts Alot 2, which enables me to cut svgs and cut files, almost ANYTHING, yes you read that right, anything I want.  I purchased this program several years ago, so I would NEVER have to buy a Cricut cartridge, which I never have, still only have the one that came with my machine, Don Juan.  Then a few years ago, Provo Craft sued the company making/distributing (not quite sure) this program and the price increased from $50 to $600.  I don't know what they are charging today, just happy that I made the investment back then.

And of course I had to make some matching cards.

Designer Paper:  Anna Griffin, Isabell Collection

These next 2 boxes will probably hold some kind of chocolates.  My Mom is very fond of Chocolate Covered Cherries from The Chatham Candy Manor.

My final 2 boxes were made for the Hubby's 50th Birthday.  My plans included a long weekend away, and a nice get together at the house for family and close friends, cocktails and appetizers.  Needless to say, we celebrated a week late with a small little teeny tiny luncheon for 6. It was all he would ALLOW me to do. So mild mannered and low key, this man of mine.   For his next major birthday I have already told him that there will be a lovely cocktail party, he can come or not!  :)  Men!!!

These were filled with mini Snickers, Andes, mints, lollipops, Marigold seeds, and scratch tickets.  It's hard to find something that everyone likes.    Designer Paper: American Crafts, Travel.

GKD Products:  Stamps; A Year Of Flowers2, All Occasion, Blossom, Dreams Take Flight, Shine On!, Designer Paper; Spring Parade.  Card Stock; Pure Luxury, Blue Raspberry, Sweet Mango, Bubble Gum.  Fibers;  Honey Mustard, Fresh Asparagus, Ocean Mist, Organza.

All Other Products:  SVG Cuts; handled box, cone ornaments, lacy ribbon border, Spring Parade cut files.  EK Success, Triple Butterfly Punch.  Doily, Rhinestones, Ribbon, Baker's Twine, Buttons, Copic Markers, Liquid Pearls, Inks; Stampin' Up! Garden Green, Memento Tuxedo Black, StazOn Blazing Red.  Copic Markers, Seed Beads, Sakura pens.

So much for a short little post.....how involved these Blogs become.  :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday, enjoy!
