Good Morning!
A brand new Challenge is up and running over at the Double D Challenge Blog.
Here is your Inspiration Tile:
Pretty Florals For Mom.
This was a tough Challenge for me.
I used to make 3 Mother's Day Cards,
but I lost my Sister and my dear Mom last year.
So now I only make one for my beautiful Daughter.
Creativity Soothes The Soul.
I had this gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio Paper
that I wanted to use, Sunshine On My Mind.
Really beautiful floral prints and patterns in fantastic colors.
PFS Sentiment, Floral Notes stamp and stencil sets.
Ornate Circle dies, cut in Vellum,
cropped and added to each end.
Floral Circle dies, just for the Circle portion.
Frantic Stamper Mix N' Match Poppy dies.
Gold Embossing Powder.
Gold Mirror Paper.
Vellum.
Foam Dots.
PFS Jewels, 12 Pack.
A Regular Slimline Card,
which I very rarely make!
And if you make a Slimline Card
you usually have to make a matching envelope.
I adore this color combo!
Please come on over to the Double D Blog and join in all of the FUN!
You'll be glad you did as there is always a pretty prize up for grabs!
Here's the prize for this Challenge:
It's a beautifully created card Donna and look at that gorgeous envelope. I understand the heartache of losing your mom and sister, I lost my mom and my sister-inlaw and Mother's Day has always been a hard one for me too. When we went thru my mother's things we found she had saved every card and tag I have ever made her, she always enjoyed seeing my cards! Hugs my friend!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful take on the challenge with the gorgeous slimline floral card and envelope you made.

DeleteBEAUTIFUL and LOVE how you finished the envelope ... so so pretty! (I'll have to remember this clever idea). I feel your pain my friend ... my Mom's been gone now for 4 1/2 years and Mother's Day just lost it's meaning for me after her passing. Although it shouldn't since I'm a mom, grandma & great grandma but it's just not the same without MY MOM! This card is outstanding and I'm sure will be greatly appreciated! Happy Mother's Day to ALL our MOM's in HEAVEN!!
ReplyDeleteMother's Day is a bittersweet time for many of us but, oh, to lose both your mother and your sister in the same year. I'm so sorry, Donna. Your slimline card is absolutely lovely! A beautiful design with the paper, and a gorgeous matching envelope to boot. True to the sentiment, this card will brighten anyone's day!
ReplyDeleteI love your card/envelope ensemble. It is so well thought out and designed. I really missed the boat on this challenge as I did see that Mother's Day suggestion. My mother has been gone for a lone time and I never even met Tom's Mom. I do send out a card to my daughter. So sorry for the loss this year.
ReplyDeleteMother's Day can be hard for many of us. I lost my mother just 2 days after Mother's Day, so it's always a difficult reminder when that date rolls around. Your card is beautiful and Lori will love it, no doubt. That extra little blessing of yours this year will bring warmth and smiles to your face. Loving never stops. That's the beauty of love.
ReplyDeleteHow very pretty!! I love your colors, and the stripes really make this slimline pop. I, too, had difficulty with this challenge. I always made Edie a card, and it just isn't the same without her. Lori will love this card, and it's especially precious because it's the only one.XO~
ReplyDeleteMy mom passed on Mother's day, it is a rough time to get through and be reminded of every year. You did a beautiful job on this beauty and the envelope is just as lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuch an elegant and unique design my friend. Love all of the pretty stenciled flowers. The embossed sentiment on vellum looks amazing. Many hugs to you this Mother's Day. Lori will love this card while you be loving on her babies.
