30th Anniversary

Well we made it lol  On Sunday we celebrated our 30th anniversary.  It's kind of weird to think that we have been married for that long, it really went by in a blink of an eye.  But here we are, happy and content.  AND the kids and Penny and Hank are coming for a visit this weekend. We are blessed!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at;  Stamp TV, You Bet Your Sweet AcetateSimon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes and Scrapy Land #94, Anything Goes.

I took a piece of packaging and used it as my acetate.  I save all of my packaging for Shaker cards so I have plenty on hand for Acetate Challenges.  I then embossed it using a Hearts Embossing Folder, when done it really looks beautiful.  I then cut a panel from the front of my card base using a Tutti Designs Cross Stitched Rectangle die.  My frame was constructed using Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die and the Tutti Rectangle die.

Memory Box Classic Stitched Heart Rings dies.

Inside I heat embossed in White the Gina K Designs stamps;
True Love, Wetlands, Wreath Builder and You Get Me.
I also added a few of the little heart die cuts from Memory Box Homespun Heart.

Added a matching envelope.
Lots of Pearls, 50 in all, 30 was not enough.
The 30th year is Pearl.

Then I created a Shadow Box.  I did not have an Oyster stamp so I used actual Oyster Shells.  My Brother In Law has an Oyster Farm in the next town over, how handy.....too bad I don't enjoy them, but the rest of my family does.  I'll let you know when I convince him to be a Lobster Man lol

I painted the shells using White Craft Paint and then brushed on a bit of glitter for some sparkle and shine.  Gina K Designs Silver Embossing Powder and Mistletoe Memories, Wealth Of Wishes and Simple Numbers stamp sets.  Lots of Pearls added, some pretty lace, rose ribbon and Rhinestone Swirls.  My 'seaweed' was created using the Memory Box Woodland die.  My scallop shell is by Ellen Hutson, Mermaid's Tail die set.

I purchased that pretty Pearl Embossed Designer Paper at Hobby Lobby.  My daughter took me to a brand new one near her home, I must say I was not that impressed. Yes, they have lots and lots of stuff, but I felt they had too much of a variety, but I think there were only 3-4 aisles of paper crafting supplies.  Maybe if they focused a bit more on each section and not try to do it all, I would have been more impressed.  Oh, plus they had Halloween and Christmas all up....big turn off in July lol

Here it is in the Shadow Box, but it's hard to see all of the pretty details.

In keeping with the Pearl theme I also ordered this gorgeous wall planter, it was the closest thing I could come to an Oyster....lol....I quite love it and can not wait for it's arrival!

Thanks for popping by.

Love it when you do!

Enjoy~~

  8. I am not sure what my problem is, but I have not commented on your projects, and I have no excuse. I just thought that I had. Could it be my age???
I just had to come over here to say that this is a fabulous way to say to a special person that life is so much better with him in it. Thirty years is fabulous and I see that you have put a lot of love and effort into this card. Tom and I have been together for close to 25, so I know the feeling. We are very blessed ladies.
