Back again on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog
I've been thinking a lot about card making and I have finally figured out, I love to make Birthday Cards. You can use any images, any dies....just sit down and start creating! Here's what I came up for today!
I cut a piece of white card stock and using a Dove Gray ink I stamped my background foliage, Nature's Greetings by Gina K Designs. To soften the look a bit more, I added a piece of Vellum on top. Perfect! My sentiment is stamped in Raven Black ink, also by Gina K Designs, Fairy Tales. I also added a bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Dandelion on my sentiment strip. Yellow Candy Dots in each corner of my Vellum layer.
Next I cut out these BEAUTIFUL Elizabeth Craft Designs Dies Dandelion Fluff from Yellow card stock. I sponged on a bit of More Mustard ink to the ends, this gives them a bit of depth and dimension. Now here's a little trick, when using Vellum and you don't want your glue or glue dots to show, just cover them up. I used the Tutti Designs Dies Nesting Stitched Banners to do just that. Then I simply topped them with big Enamel Brads. Honeycomb and Black and White Striped Designer Papers.
I think these Dandelion Fluff are really FUN! Remember as a kid, you would find them, blow and make a wish? Oh to simpler times! :)
Here's what I used:

Yes, I totally remember making wishes on dandylion tails. What a delightful card and post! Dandylions are totally underrated, as they are also edible and the first bouquet a mother generally receives from the hands of her little children. Love this Donna! I like how you used those tiny banners too. My genius friend... ;0)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Donna! I love the design! The gray stamped background, covered with the vellum, is really wonderful! The dandelion fluff die is lovely too. I made so many wishes! lol
ReplyDeleteI've made many a wish on dandelion fluff. lol This is such a fun die and card. Love all of the layers and added goodies. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteThis birthday card design could be used for anyone. Male or female. It is so soft and pretty, but I love the punch of yellow on the gray. The banners look like the ends of a ribbon that is tucked inside. Love this.
