Celebrate 1

Good afternoon!

This card will be entered into the Challenges at Scrapy Land, Anything Goes and Kat Scrappiness, World Card Making Day.

I used Gina's Wood Carved Background Technique, this is taking card makers by storm!  If you haven't watched her video yet HERE it is and it's fantastic!  Thought I would give it a try it with some un-wood like colors.

To create my background I swiped Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean on to my card stock.  Then I ran it through my Big Shot using a Sizzix Paisley Embossing Folder.  Once that was done I swiped Frost White ink over the entire panel--that's when all that magic happens!  WOW!

The beautiful flower pots are from Potted Primroses by Power Poppy. Images colored with Copic Markers.  Papertrey Ink die Fabulous Frames, Paper Smooches die Foliage 1 and Die Versions die Curly Words Celebrate.  Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow for flower centers.  Swiss Dots Embossing Folder for texture.  Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.
I enjoyed making this card so much I made a 2nd one.....coming up next!
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I really love your background! The colors look amazing together!

  2. Beautiful background! I like how you used the Crystal Drops in the center of the flowers. Looks so cool! I just got some of those but haven't tried them yet. You've inspired me!

  3. I saw your second one before this one. But they are both awesome. I can see that this technique is really taking off. There are endless possiblilites. Don't you think?

  4. Just beautiful. Don't you just LOVE that new technique, it works every time!!! Your colors are beautiful, as is the focal. The dots for the background are genius, that is all!!!

  5. Like Barbara, I saw your second one first and think they're both beautiful. Love the colors. I definitely need to try that technique.

  6. Love the colors and fun design and your signature ribbon. How did you get the speckled background around the flowers?

    1. Pointillism. I just took Copic Markers and dotted all around in 3 different colors. :)

  7. This is so gorgeous!! I love the colors and design!! The flowers look amazing!! Thank you so much for playing along at Scrapy Land!! Have a great day :)
