Manly Valentine

Good Morning!

Just one more Valentine.  This little card of love was sent to a very special man, Judy's Dad.  He thinks it's quite funny that we are the best of friends and have never met...well, I guess he's kind of right.  :)

I will be entering this card into the Challenges at Dies R Us, Use Red And Dies and Simon Says Monday, Upcycle/Recycle.

Another wood grain background, but I think it adds so much and totally makes the card manly!  The sentiment is from Simon Says, Labeled With Love.  Spellbinders Hearts die and MFT Blueprints #12 dies.  After die cutting out the large heart I then did a smaller one inside, made another heart die which I then covered in Gold Foil with my Minc.  I quite love just adding a touch of gold here and there with that little gizmo, so fun!

The small heart that was cut out of the wood grain panel I then layered upon several heart die cuts out of card board from our recycling bin, this was from a Cheerios box, creating a chipboard accent, where the sentiment gets tucked behind.  Designer Papers by Theresa Collins, Hello My Name Is.

Thanks for popping in, love it when you do!

Enjoy~~

  2. Totally manly card. So nice of you to send to Judy's Dad. I know you get a good feeling when you do. I love all of the elements on this card. Specially the heart within a heart. Kind of like you like Judy's Dad, because you love Judy. Right?

  6. Good Afternoon, my friend. Love the colors in that wood grained background. All the details are so much fun. Love how you cut the large heart and popped it back in. It looks like it was drawn in. Cutting the smaller heart from the center and then using it again adds so much detail. Fabulous.

  7. Wow, Donna! This card is fantastic! I am so impressed that you created a love-themed card that is so unique! I've never seen anything so original for Valentine's Day and I think the background is amazing! I love how it has sort of a gritty street-smart vibe (if that makes any sense whatsoever)! Just know that I love this and commend you for thinking outside the box. Thank you so much for sharing your skills with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
