Sew Easy

Happy Wednesday!

I am hosting this week's Challenge over at the Mod Squad Blog

Come join in all of the fun and play along!

Challenge

This week's Challenge is,

Sew Easy

You must use some type of stitching on your card.  It could be from a sewing machine, or a stitched die of some sort, or even creating a hand stitched look using a white gel pen, the choice is yours.  Please label what you have used for my poor old eyes......don't make me put on my 'crafting glasses'.

Remember if you do not follow the challenge, your entry will not qualify for the prize.

This Weeks Sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps
http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/

All the stamps and Fri-Dies are designed by Michele , and are based on her love for Clean And Simple design, hence the CAS in CAS-ual. However, they will delight any stamper's style! Whether you are a CAS enthusiast or a lover of Utterly Adorable Layers, you will have a blast getting inky with them.
The stamps are made in the USA of the finest clear photopolymer, and the coordinating line of wafer thin dies are also made in the USA.

  2 Prizes
2 - $15 Gift Certificate each to the STORE

Here is my first project:

and Casual Comfort, and matching die set, Casual Trees.   This is a double layered Stitched Tag.  Inks in Pirouette Pink and Black Licorice.  Gingham Ribbon, Baker's Twine and Pink Adhesive Rhinestones as accents.

2nd Project

My background was created using the same stamp, Curtis Background  and ink colors.  Once mounted on black card stock I whipped out my Janome Mini sewing machine and stitched all around the edges in a deep pink thread.  Sentiment from the 3 In A Row stamp set.  I also made chipboard hearts using the matching Tic Tac Toe die.  Half a Doily, Heart Button, Baker's Twine and Pink Adhesive Rhinestone for accents.

Hope you find some time to join in the Challenge!

Thanks for coming by!

Retiform Technique

Happy Wednesday!

I am hosting this week's Challenge over at the Mod Squad Blog.

Now don't be scared by the title.....give it a try, I think you'll find you LOVE it!

Challenge

Retiform Challenge

Retiform:  :  composed of crossing lines and interstices :

This is achieved by placing down paper (copy paper / post-it-notes) and then sponging ink on to different sections of the card stock, moving the paper as you go, to create colorful little sections.

Using inks in Wild Wasabi and Tempting Turquoise I created my retiform lines.  This technique makes little 'windows' of color, perfect for stamping and showcasing images and words. The stamp set is Wonderful Words.  Stamping in Black Licorice ink I just filled in all of the lovely little windows.  Sheer Ribbon for accent.

This time using Distress inks in Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey I created my retiform lines.  I used several stamp sets for this card; Casual Comfort, Girlfriend and 3 In A Row.  Inside I used the heart die from  Tic-Tac-Toe.  All images and sentiments stamped in Black Licorice ink.  A little Black and White Gingham Ribbon threaded through a Spellbinders Ribbon Buckle die for accent.

Don't be afraid to try new things....as we used to say to the kids when they were little, take a 'no-thank you bite'.  Try it once and if you don't like it just say, no thank you!

Wonderful Words

Casual Comfort

Girlfriend

3 In A Row

Tic Tac Toe

So head on over to the Mod Squad Blog and check out all of the details!

Thanks for stopping by!

From The Heart Challenge

I'm Hosting the Challenge over at The Mod Squad, FROM THE HEART

The challenge this week...is to make a card that incorporates.....you guessed it.....HEARTS.

This Weeks Sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/

All the stamps and Fri-Dies are designed by Michele , and are based on her love for Clean And Simple design, hence the CAS in CAS-ual. However, they will delight any stamper's style! 2 Prizes Up For Grabs!

2 - $15 Gift Certificate each to the STORE

I used the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps,  3 In A Row and matching dies, Tic-Tac-Toe.  Grabbing my Minc Foiling Machine, I added some pretty Gold Foil to my die cut hearts.  Stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Ink.

Finished off the inside with a second sentiment and a pretty little heart.

I used the same CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for a different look.  Stamping sentiments, 'nuff said and xoxo while using heart die cut outs in many different Designer Papers.  I first drew 3 straight lines using a Sakura Silver Glitter pen so I could line my hearts up adding Adhesive Pearls for accents.

A few hours left to play.....Challenge ends at noon on Tuesday!
