ReplyDeleteWell how bright and cheerful is this Donna! I personally love anything nice and jolly and this hits the spot perfectly! A lovely creation and perfect for our theme this month, thank you once again for sharing with us all three of your lovely creations, Leanne DT Penny Black and More Challenges xxxx
ReplyDeleteI saw this one yesterday on Facebook and love it then. So bright and cheery for a birthday card. Loving all of the texture and layering. Specially the banner on the top with the repeat of color on the three pearls on the bottom.
ReplyDeleteSigh. What a lovely, texture-laden, beautifully-layered Autumn colored card, Donna. It's gorgeously put together. I always admire your incorporation of a little ribbon. The ribbon adds a special softness. Donna, when you do lots of layers (like this card), do you combine paper weights? Are some of the papers 60lb (like Michaels) and others 80-100lb, to keep the postage down? Or do you use all heavier cardstock? Thanks for sharing this beauty! xx
ReplyDeleteI don't do it to keep the postage down, just the cost of the paper itself. I do use all different weights. The 3 layers of white is the inexpensive brand from any craft store, probably 65 lb The colored card stock is ALWAYS Gina K Designs Pure Luxury, which used to be 110 lb. I also prefer the heavy weight Designer Papers, either double sided or just much heavier than the scrapbook paper pads (which I do have a ton of) The die cuts I make are always cut from Gina's Pure Luxury, otherwise they look 'cheap' But no one would probably notice, other than another card maker. I did buy the Michael's Recollections brand of card stock they now carry which is 110 lb weight, comes in packs of 100 and different shades in each one, it's quite good and you can use a coupon so it brings the original cost of $14.99 way down! Hope that helps! :)
DeleteWhat wonderful warm colors on your beautiful card Donna! I hope you had fun playing with paper all day!
ReplyDeleteLove all your elements here, this card is just beautiful. I love that you gave texture to the background, and used colored ink instead of black to stamp those big flowers. Great take on that photo, the ribbon is perfect, as are your color choices. Great card!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your card. It is amazingly gorgeous and so beautiful with those colors.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous design. I love your flowers and layers. How fun you can play all day.
