Happy 70th, Friend

Only you're not 70.....that was last year lol

Ever make one of those mistakes?  Well I have made it twice within days....you'll see another card soon with the same issues.  Dear friends have birthdays coming in July and August, thought they were both going to be 70.....nope that was last year....for both of them lol  I'll figure out something, or just give them their youth back!  HA!

Anyways this card will be entered into the Challenges at; Stamp TV. Creating Envelopes and Simon Says Wednesday, Anything Goes!

I found this fabulous Designer Paper in my stash, DCWV, Lace And Linens, pretty, romantic prints!  I stitched 3 of the different prints together with my Janome Mini Sewing Machine.   Then I just started die cutting and layering card stocks together.....FUN!!!  Spellbinders Captivating Squares, Beaded Ovals, Standard Circles and Hearts dies used.  The Happy die cut is by Cheery Lynn and has been colored with a Copic Marker as it was cut out of White card stock.

Lots of accents too!  Doily, sponged with Antique Linen ink.  Seam Binding Ribbon colored with a Copic Marker--years ago I bought a large roll of white for just this purpose--so economical!  Lace, Rhinestone Circle and Adhesive Pearls.  Gina K Designs stamp sets; A Little Something, Fill It With Flowers, Lovely Shelf and Simple Numbers.  Ink in Blushing Bride.

Matching Ivory Envelope stamped in Blushing Bride ink using the Gina K Designs stamp set, Birthday Blessings.

I love when I can just layer up anything and everything and it still comes out quite pretty!  YAY!

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy~~

  1. I am smiling so big right now.....too, too funny! I know the recipient will love this (hint, hint). Anyone would like their youth back. The vintage-y, shabby chic look is gorgeous, and that ribbon is perfect here. Great patterned papers too, and I really like that they were stitched. Super beautiful, super thoughtful!!!!

  2. Yes, I agree! Anyone would think it was a great compliment to get a year back. Or that 70 was soooo good that it needs to be replayed. You can do anything on a card, from plain and simple to shabby chic. Please send this one on to someone special. Hint

  5. big boo boo! But, Donna, isn't 70 the new 29? Once a person hits 65, doesn't it change from 29 to 70? That's what I always heard anyway. Your card is drop dead GORGEOUSNESS in those amazing colors, and the stitching is so pretty! I especially like the tiny lace flowers playing hide-and-seek from behind the heart. Beautifully done, Donna! xx

  8. Well, I think it is a gorgeous design and even if the number is a year off I think it would be so well received. And, hitting 70 seems to work okay for me. LOL
