Under The Sea

Good Monday Morning!

What a great weekend.  Nice weather, sunshine, gardening, crafting.....just super!  Hope you all enjoyed yours as well!

Today's card is for the Mod Squad Blog, One Layer about a Challenge!

I used images from the Stampin' Up! set, By The Tide and the sentiment is from Masculine Tags by Gina K Designs.   Again making a frame stencil and sponging with blue and green inks, then stamping images and sentiment on top.  After covering the focal point with card stock, I broke out my trusty old toothbrush, dipped it in some blue and green craft paints and then flicked the paint all over creating the specks.  I kind of love that technique AND it almost masked a big green ink smudge.....lower left corner.  ;)  I then added Stickles for the fish scales and some all over the specks of paint.  Still not crazy about a ONE layer or a NO layer, which I think this really is, but I will keep on trying.
Thanks so much for stopping in.
If you see Sharyn Polesel around, wish her the happiest of birthdays!  ;)

  1. Looks great! I love your fish stamps and the texture that the splattered ink adds.

  2. Oh, oh, oh - love this so much!!!! Your texture is awesome here. I always forget to do that and I love the tooth brush technique. Great colors and stamp choices too!! I better get crackin' - you are showing me up!!!

  3. I really like this! One layer cards are hard for me too, but you did a great job on this one. I love all of the splatters and, of course, those cute little fish! Thanks for the birthday shout out.

  4. This looks great for 1 layer. I also am not a big fan of CAS cards. But 1 layer I like better since it doesn't need all that white can be filled with speckles LOL

  5. Love, love, love it!!! You might not be crazy about CAS and/or one layer cards but you do a FANTASTIC job on them.

  6. Wowza!! this so rocks Donna! Thanks so much for playing along in the Mod Squad Challenge this week!
