Charming Gardeners

Good Monday Morning!

Back on the Dies R Us Blog today!

Even though this card has some gorgeous flowers and a lovely gardening sentiment, I thought a Black and White palette would still let you see all the beauty this garden has to offer.  I used the Spellbinders dies; Fanciful Lattice and Labels 4 to create my base and my sentiment die cut using White card stock.  Ink in Black Licorice.

I die cut the beautiful Cherry Blossom Branch by Cheery Lynn twice, once in White and again in Black.  I snipped off the White blossoms and layered on to the Black die cuts with 3 dimensionals,  flipping up the centers as I went along to add a bit more depth.  Then I topped them with flat Pearl Adhesives.   I love how they frame my sentiment.  Sheer Black Ribbon, to tie it all together.

I just adore this sentiment!!!  It's by Gina K Designs, Friends.

Enjoy~~

  4. Gosh, Donna! That background paper looks like you have stenciled with it embossing paste! It's really beautiful paper on its own, as you said in your post. Exquisitely done in classic black and white, too! It shows the depth of friendship - LOVE THAT! I never think to use the black and white theme, and yet, I love it! So why do I forget to do it? Can you try casting a spell over me to remind me about some of your incredible design ideas? LOL I very much liked the Cheery Lynn cherry blossoms, but was not sure they would be used very much - but hmmmm, now I wonder, seeing them done up with great depth and color intensity. It's a fantastic idea to shadow the white with the black! Beautiful card, my sweet friend! hoping you enjoy a lovely week, Donna. hugs, de
